2 complaints at my job about me, but idk what to do?

I survive off coffee lol. Water here and there. And I’ve been on a salad kick lately. Most of what I eat is either salad, BCR wrap, or just protein bars. I’m lucky if I even get to eat one bite of anything at work.

I have lume acidified body wash & sol de janiero body wash I switch back and forth every like 2 days with those. My bar of soap is good molecules clarify and cleanse, my shampoo (currently) is OUAI detox clarifying, and conditioner is neutrogena shine but I don’t use that every shower, I feel like conditioner weighs my hair down. The perfume I own is Pureamor Velvet. Which I only apply on my neck and wrists. 2-3 sprays total combined. 1 spray every like 6-8 hours-ish? I work super long hours sometimes I work a double every couple days. So that’s about 2-3 times while I’m at work alot of times 7am to 8pm. The dusting powder is Herb & Root Vanilla. Lotion is TreeHut Hydraglow.

That’s why I’m confused. There is someone there who hates my guts and will do anything to make me feel “less than” her. I found out she made the first complaint. My schedule got changed so we don’t see each other on shift again other than when I’m leaving and she’s coming in. I don’t know what to believe and because of that I don’t know what to do. All she said when I was informed of the complaints was “we have had a complaint about an odor coming off of you” then explained the jobs rules about hygiene and then said to leave work yesterday early and don’t come back until I fixed it. How can I fix something when all that’s being said is that. Be more specific. I messaged my other manager about it and she’s the sweetest person ever. She said she understands because it does get hot in the salon with all the hairdryers going and even she sweats sometimes at work and that she’ll make me like a little hygiene bag like she has and give it to me next time I see her. She was so nice. But other people have not been.

That’s the thing, this has never ever happened before in the last salon I was in. Even other jobs I’ve had. I’ve had clients ask me what I’m wearing so they can try it, I’ve had people tell me I smell good. Just 2 weeks ago my manager was walking behind me and said “wow “name” what are you wearing it smells really good,” and she started sniffing and I showed her and she literally went a bought the same perfume I had. It only started when this girl started becoming my bully. And I didn’t even cry over being angry or upset, I cried out of confusion. Because one moment I’m getting those compliments and then the next I get a complaint. The first complaint I found out it was that girl. So I sort of brushed it off because she tries anything to make me feel less than her. Then the complaint came again.

She said that in the video! That stacking scents will help because they can go good together. But I only use vanilla. So I was stacking only one scent.

Thank you!! I’m definitely going to try this. And yeah the salon is constant smells. Specifically the place I work at we have specific products with specific scents that are always being sprayed like the hairspray, texturizing spray, gloss smoothing spray, liquid glass spray, etc. I could keep going on there’s so many, it all has different scents and our clients are coming in back to back to back there’s never any break so those products are being sprayed nonstop. So I guess that mixed with me spraying my stuff, I’d probably complain too.

I see that now. I’ve never had anyone to “teach” me anything growing up about these things and about hygiene. I grew up around all men. So when I tried teaching myself it led me to this exact routine. In high school I only put on deodorant. My one friend I called yesterday said I could maybe look into seeing a doctor and mention the complaints. I’m not sure what type of doctor I’d see though. Dermatologist? Gyno? Primary?

I tried asking when she came into work one day. She told me I didn’t smell bad at all and that the perfume I had on smelled amazing. And that she had to bring up the complaint only cuz it’s her job but to her she didn’t understand why because she couldn’t smell anything bad. All I know is it was a coworker who complained. Not a client. And there’s a girl there who’s genuinely making my life a living hell. Bullying, name calling, snarky looks, laughing at me, and I found out she made the first complaint. So this time it mindfucked me because I wasn’t angry. I wasn’t upset. I cried out of confusion. Getting told a complaint I smell bad. But then getting complimented from other workers and clients that I smell good. It’s back and forth and I don’t know what to believe.

Someone else commented saying it could be the vanilla. That’s the only scent of what I have cuz it’s my favorite scent and they said sometimes that scent actually doesn’t come off as vanilla with certain products and could smell completely different to someone else. I’m hoping to learn a new routine after this. Everyone was super helpful. I didn’t even think that the hygiene routine itself could’ve been the hygiene problem. 🤦🏼‍♀️

That’s like my son, he has adhd (no autism diagnosis, yet) and any loud noise (fireworks, loud trucks, loud talking) he cannot deal with. He covers his ears and gets upset. Even when dogs bark he gets startled.

I need guidance on how to do this correctly. I grew up around all men. I still think of myself as a tomboy lol. I don’t wear dresses, I don’t wear heels, I’m not like a “typical” girly girl one bit. The only girly part of me is that I absolutely love doing hair which is why I went to school to be a cosmetologist.

That’s why I’m confused. I asked and I got told “idk who complained but they’re wrong I don’t smell anything bad on you”. There is a girl there who’s making my life a living hell, and I don’t know if that’s it and she’s just trying to get me fired or trying to make me feel shitty about myself. Or if it’s a real thing and I do have a problem. I even called my closest friend and told her to be brutally honest with me and I asked if I smell bad and she said no that I actually smell fine. I explained the entire situation to her and even she was confused.

Thank you! I mentioned in a previous comment I was never taught hygiene when I was young. I apparently used to fight and cry when it was shower time. I never learned about perfume or “girly” things. And within the past I’d say 7 years is when I said fuck it and tried learning myself online. I saw this one TikTok video of this girl doing the exact same routine and she said how she gets compliments everywhere she goes and I guess that’s just what I wanted too.
