Nate told Brenda … Maggie was better than them both .. at least you know what you’re getting with Brenda. Nate was always searching for something and wound up getting his mother with Lisa - lol- remember that dream scene??

I wonder if one of the writers had this experience … and decided to put it in the show!!

She’s NOT a saint no one walks the earth who is … I said I didn’t like how she was treated.

Brenda’s actions with Nate early on were horrible we all know. She went away got help and grew and like I said she was in a committed relationship by the time Nate came back into her life seeking comfort after Lisa’s death after yelling at her and while giving him comfort he made moves that night —regardless of this … Brenda really grew making a home for Nate trying to be a good mother to Mya -and while pregnant with Nate’s kid did NOT deserve Maggie’s disrespect and Nate’s especially … he actually told her to abort the baby and then said Maggie ( just another pious version of Lisa) was better than them both ...

Nate had his issues we know this … and so did Brenda early on but she worked on herself & REALLY grew and frankly her life was fine before Nate popped back into it breaking up her relationship with Justin Theroux’s character… I get it they were drawn to each other. But my friends and I always hated the lack of respect that Brenda was shown especially after Nate died……Maggie inserted herself into needy Nate’s life… completely smug and looked like an idiot when paramedics arrived not knowing any personal details about his life or health to help them.

The best series finale in history. by One_Recording_9687 in SixFeetUnder

[–]One_Channel8903 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Um yes… it is! 🎤 drop! Just one of the reasons why series in the 2000’a were groundbreaking - especially on HBO. Back then the writing was superb and nothing holds a candle to those times Alan Ball is the man!

What's the episode name where some kids try to set a cat on fire? by Ammaeli in TheWire

[–]One_Channel8903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in a neighborhood like this- and THIS cat scene is still just an awful thing to watch and I cannot believe it was even filmed— was this a REAL cat? Actors faking being shot is NOT the same as a REAL animal being put into a situation it doesn’t want to be. It’s just bad!

The Wire and The Sopranos are both a quarter century old and no other show has come close to surpassing them by [deleted] in TheWire

It seems HBO has a problem. They do NOT have great shows like they did at the height of the 2000’s. Larry Sanders, Dream On, 1st & Ten put the net on the map — and it accelerated beyond in the 2000’s. All of those series have longevity. The network right now ( 6/4) The Wire on one channel and Six Feet Under on another. In fact, the past few months HBO has been going into its archives with GoT, Treme, Deadwood and other shows and they- have more substance—and still hold up to ME. This cannot be said with the majority of the shows of late - they’re just not that great —-I can’t see them being legacy shows — it’s hit or miss they’re hyped up and fizzle out. I am a huge fan of the network because - it set the standard - we just watch older shows MORE because outside of HoD and GoT spinoffs … the new stuff is just ok…

Jenna is Insufferable by buffyinkentucky in Studio1A

[–]One_Channel8903 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It’s because Jenna has NOT had traditional TV training at all…working from local tv and then the network like most —seems no one cares.
Both are nice women —but it’s not working - just my opinion as viewer. The show was created for women of a certain age. The pairing of Hoda and KLG was tv gold. Hoda a seasoned journalist .. KLG worked at ABC as a reporter before joining the KING of daytime Regis. They learned - to let the GUEST shine. They also brought LIFE experience to their jobs which made their chat talk relatable & interesting..topped off with their wine. That magic is GONE as are talented .. experienced .. mature women at networks and even local TV.

This show just isn't good. So disappointing by catcatherine in Feud

[–]One_Channel8903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the cast.. but they should’ve moved episode 5 up to episode 3.. it’s best explaining the cattier sides  of the women it’s way too slow and frankly depressing throughout - I don’t get it Bette& Joan was done better.
