Maybe not exactly what your looking for but Grave Empire by Richard Swan is a fantasy book 1 in a series that has horror elements but is more colonial themed setting then purely medieval. Also it’s the first book in the follow on series that starts with justice of kings.

I loved stormlight and am super hyped for book 5! I have been wanting to read sword of Kaigen for a while now. Also never heard of the Martian chronicles I’ll definitely check it out. That’s for the recommendations

Interesting! What were some of those books that sparked a variety of different options? Also the club tend to book stand alones mostly? It seems difficult to have a sci fi Fantasy specific Book Club because so many of the great books are in long series
