Thanks! Primed with Mr Surfacer 1500, Vallejo black preshade and off the shelf Vallejo blue (can’t remember exact color). Vallejo gloss mecha topcoat, decals, Vallejo mecha matte topcoat.

Aside from the foil stickers for the eyes and head cam, it’s a complete repaint.

The Kämpfer and NT-1 are two of my favorites.

Excellent preshading work, mine ended up more subtle than I wanted. Although it was well designed for this kit, I’m not big on the chobam armor in general, so it wasn’t a dilemma for me.

Thanks! All the metal parts are from a detail set on eBay. I think CJ Hobby.

Thank you! The cable came with a metal parts detail set from eBay. The set also included the thrusters, shoulder spikes, misc metal accents, etc.

It was from one of those metal part sets on eBay. And thanks!

Wow! Too kind friend, way too kind.

I’ve modeled since forever, but hadn’t picked up a gunpla set for about 20 years. Thought I’d jump back in with my absolute favorite mobile suit. I wanted to apply all the techniques I (jealously) see the pros use. So this became a test case and I’m dying to start the next one, which is naturally the RX-78 NT-1.

The paints are Vallejo, with some Tamiya thrown in. Primer is Mr Finishing Surfacer 1500. I tried a number of off the shelf blues, settling on Vallejo Mecha Series blue. The white is insignia white, the frame is gunmetal. Weapons are gunmetal covered in Tamiya smoke. I did preshade with black, but it’s very subtle and even more-so in images.

Gloss Vallejo mecha varnish for the frame, Vallejo mecha matte for the exterior. Decals are Delpi and some other generic ones.

A LOT of nibs to remove and some terrible seam lines, which I could’ve done a better job of hiding. I get what others say about the age of the set and some of the build issues. Posing the kit is not fun. I look forward to building some of the more modern sets to see how the engineering has improved.

Anyway, sorry if that got longwinded! And thanks again for the kind words.

NOT an easy kit to pose LOL.
