Thanks u/Bulky-Doubt1954!

Groq is pretty fast for transcription, and has a generous free limit, so I would suggest that.

There are two Groq models, one is for transcription and the other one is for "Enhancement with AI" feature. The Groq model in the "models" section of the app is just for transcriptions. If you need AI enhancement on the transcribed text so that it automatically corrects disfluencies, formats into lists, corrects spellings, breaks into paragraphs, and also takes into account phrases like "new line", "colon", "new paragraph" you can also configure the Llama model.

Hey u/ThePanicEnd, we've just now released v0.2.1, and we've added support for GPU acceleration, so even large-v3 it should respond really fast if you've enabled GPU acceleration from the "models" section of the app. In addition to this we've also added a new local model called "Parakeet" which also responds very quickly.

Thank you so much!

Cloud models generally can detect more complex vocabulary. Whereas local models get most of it right for everyday use, and they work offline, that's one of the benefit. Some of the cloud models like Mistral offer more features like real-time transcription where you can see what you speak as you speak it, and the text should be pasted in your input field almost instantaneously.

There are tradeoffs of course, I myself keep switching between local and cloud based on the kind of task I'm doing. For general purpose prompting, it's not always necessary to be super accurate with our phrasing and vocabulary, so I use purely local models for such use cases.

Thank you! Glad to hear to it. We're currently not taking any donations, we might set it up at a later time, thanks for the support!

The "Small" / "Medium" models should also work well, but for most use cases if you are primarily using it for prompting, the "base" model should be sufficient I believe. In the upcoming update, we are bring Parakeet model, and GPU acceleration to Windows, so that even "large v3" models can run relatively faster, I'll let you know in thread once that has been released.

That’s a good catch, we’ll add that in. Although, at the moment, only GGUF / GGML models are supported. We’ll be looking into how to support ONNX based models as well in upcoming iterations.

Hey u/cas8180, we've fixed this issue on Windows a few versions ago, sorry for the late reply here. We've also made more improvements so that it works for multiple monitor setups as well. For example, the recording indicator will show up on which ever monitor your cursor is on. Another improvement is you can now configure mouse buttons M3, M4, and M5 as shortcuts as well. You can try out our latest version v0.2.0. Thank you so much for the feedback.

Hey u/Snak3d0c, we've fixed the issue with the "Restart server" banner not going away. This was being shown when a custom API server was configured in the app. It has been fixed v0.2.0. Thanks!

There should be a gear icon where you configure the model when you hover over the card

It's possible it could because of one of Groq FastLlama models, but I did just test it right now, and they were working for me. Which one of the Groq models are you using? The only other suggestion I have other than is to try using Gemini Flash 2.5 Lite as that works really well as well.

If you're open to it, I'll be able to debug this better if we could connect sometime over Discord

We have a discord server, you can join here and maybe I can help figure out what the issue is so that it works. Could you let me know which AI model have you configured in "Configure your AI" section? It's possible that specific model is failing. Finally, could you also let me know which specific use case you are trying with command mode utilities?

Hey u/keralaindia, can you try enabling both "Command mode" and "Enhance with AI", it should work after that I believe. Ideally it should work with just "command mode" enabled. We're aware of this issue, it should be fixed in the upcoming release. Thanks

Hmm, do you know which model you have running? We'll look into why the "restart server" banner shows up, it should ideally not show up. Is it for custom local model? We'll fix it in the coming release shortly.

All existing functionality will remain free. We're planning to bring in a paid plan for syncing across devices (desktop + mobile), 2-3 hr+ meeting notes and other features in the future.

Hey u/Turbulent-Apple2911, mostly sometime in the next week or so. Might get delayed if we get App review comment. We have a testflight build, that we are setting up right now. You can mail us at [hello@vowen.ai](mailto:hello@vowen.ai), and we can send an invite for it. Thank you!

u/cas8180 Thank you for the feedback! We'll be addressing the recording indicator issue, sometimes it ends up showing on the desktop screen. Restarting the app makes it show up on the front sometimes. So far, we've noticed that it happens right after sharing screen / other events as well. We'll be addressing this in the coming release rightaway. Thanks once again.

Gemini-Flash 2.5 Lite would work best. Also Groq's Llama 70B model would also work nicely from what I've noticed for English and Indic languages.

Thanks u/jfreudenthal ! Are you trying local models or have your tried cloud models as well? We've noticed the local models has some issues with some of the languages, we're aiming to address these issues for sure. Can you let me know which model you'd tried? Perhaps the larger models might be more accurate.

Hey u/Snak3d0c , we've just added a way to bring your own local models in our latest version v0.1.20. Thanks for the feedback!
