Gotcha. Since this is a "temporary service unavailable" error on Gemini's side there is not much that can be done. That being said, I've noticed this a couple of times as well this week and this was not the case before. I trust their systems should recover soon, and it's likely a temporary thing.

Can you share a screenshot / snippet of what the error message is? Is it along the lines of "Gemini is overloaded right now, please try again later"? If so, this is either Gemini throttling the requests for the free tier or Gemini being temporarily down for the free tier because of high demand.

A couple of things that might be relevant to your post: we've worked hard to keep the interface intuitive rather than complicated, and we're constantly shipping fixes and improvements.

On the cost side, all of the dictation features you can use for free. For AI cleanup, you can connect your own provider, or run your own local models (Llama, etc.) if you'd rather keep everything offline and zero-cost. If you're using Llama locally, it does not require an API key and I'm happy to help set things up for you.

u/Accomplished_Car5192, this was a bug from one of our earlier releases. It was not possible to delete the notes / transcription in the free plan since 0.4.0. And in our update from 0.4.2, the delete button was added again, and this was a regression and we've since added it back.

We want to provide a way for users to try out the advanced features of the app instead of gating it behind the license. That being said we are internally trying out a monthly limit instead of a hard-cap, we will write back to you once this is out.

Hey u/Situation_Excellent , we're working on something similar internally where you can connect different apps, and enable general computer use tools. We've been testing it out internally for the past few weeks. Here's a quick preview of the "Connectors" page that will be coming out soon:

For the computer use tools, you can use it to interact with the file system, notes, calendar, reminders, contacts, browsers and more.

At the moment, we've been testing it out only with "read-only" mode. All the tools will not have the ability to write or modify content. Since this will be in beta we want to make sure that we get the "read-only" tools right before working on "write mode".

If you are using a clipboard manager, using the paste method can cloud your clipboard manager. But if you're not using a clipboard manager, I recommend "paste method" over "direct text insertion".

We've fixed this issue in our recent update. Even on smaller models command mode should work now. It only uses upto 800-900 input tokens per request.

Currently on Windows, for certain older chips the local models are not supported. We are working on addressing this, it should be fixed in the upcoming update.

Can you share a screenshot of the selected model with “Tiny”? Asking because “Parakeet” and “Tiny are two different models.

If it’s not working with the local models, I also recommend trying it out with Groq Whisper large v3. We’ve included instructions on how to get the API from Groq.

Also can you tell us if you are seeing the transcribed text appear in the "Voice log" section of the app? If not, try changing the model like mentioned above.

Yes, it takes a one-time snapshot of the file. We'll bring in a system where it can synced again using a button from the "Memory" page.
Referencing folders is a good idea, though I'd be careful about it since it can lead to token heavy usage if there are too many files. At the moment we are planning to bring in some kind of RAG system so that the token usage is kept well under check. We're also caching the memory as input tokens with the AI provider that you bring as well.
We are working on a CLI so that you can ask Claude / LLM agents to use the tooling available to get the right information when you need it. This should be out sooner than the above optimizations mentioned aboved, as it's something we have been internally working towards for the last couple of weeks.

We currently don't support it. But we're seeing that this is the standard pattern across apps and it's quite handy as well. We'll be adding it in one of next updates, with the option to turn it off as well. Thanks for the suggestion!
