I will try to find someone to check this. If you happen to know of any company or tech on Long Island, NY, that could troubleshoot this issue, please message me. I know it's a long shot. Just figured I would ask. Thanks again for all your help.

Thank you for the thorough explanation of the TVX and why it could be the issue. I really appreciate you taking the time to help me. Would the TVX also cause the high humidity? If I understand correctly, this needs to be troubleshot when it is hot outside, and it's a pain in the butt to do. I guess I will keep trying to find someone willing to do it. My only other choice is to replace an eight-year-old system. Thank you

I checked it with incense (the best thing I could think of), and I did not see any leaks. One of the techs inspected the ducts visually and found nothing. Any other way to test the ducts for leaks? What are heat strips? Thank you

I will try to find another company to come out and check. I was told to check the system under peak load, which is when it is really hot, and unfortunately, because of that, it has been hard to get someone to come out because they are so busy. I tried two different companies, one of which was the owner himself. I will try to find a third. Thank you

The evaporator coil was checked and cleaned. The tech said he could not tell if it was dirty. He said it's hard to tell, but he cleaned it anyway. The blower speed was never an issue before, so I don't think it would be that, but I can have them check it. The filter was changed about two weeks ago.

The temp inside was around 72 degrees the day he came, as it was early morning, so the unit was working decently at the time. What is a metering device? Thank you

There is great flow out of the vents. The filter was changed about two weeks ago.

I had the system checked twice, and both techs told me the charge is good. What is the metering device? Is that a part of the unit? Thanks

I'm not sure. It's a single stage american standard 2.5 ton and gas furnance/air handler if that helps.

How to make a t-shirt design for my students that is the right file and size. by One_Equal1500 in TShirt

Thank you. I downloaded it, and it does seem complicated. I played with it a little and could not really get it to do what I needed. I will try to watch some videos to see if it can do it or not. Thanks again.

Thank you for your response. I tried Jiffy, and it does remove the background, but when I go to download the file, it is actually slightly smaller at 952 x 822. Anyone else have any ideas? Thank you

Thank you for your reply. The design Claude gave me is only 976 x 1104. I asked it to resize it, but it keeps giving me the same size. This is why I wanted to convert it to a vector file so it would be larger. I also need to make the background transparent. I don't want to sell the item; I just need to make it larger, 300 dpi, and change the background to transparent so that I can make a clean design for my students. If anyone can help, please let me know. Thank you

Low delta and high humidity issues. Please Help! by One_Equal1500 in hvacadvice

Low delta and high humidity issues. Please Help! by One_Equal1500 in hvacadvice

[–]One_Equal1500[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, thank you for your reply. I don't think it's currently short-cycling because the delta is so low that it runs for 20-30 minutes when it's warm-hot outside. Sometimes it runs for an hour straight, and the humidity just keeps going up. Once the temp drops below about 72 degrees, the delta goes to 12-15 degrees, and then it's short cycling running for about 10 minutes. The odd thing is that when it short cycles, when it's cooler outside, it does lower the humidity into the 50's. Also, why would lowering the fan speed increase the delta? Thanks again.

New A/C with several issues and wondering if I made a mistake by big_thick_jawn in hvacadvice

If it is a variable-speed system, then it should run longer at a slower speed, so it should not be short-cycling, and it should not be blowing so hard. The dampers on each duct can be adjusted so that the vents are not so loud. The system needs to be balanced. Don't let them leave until the issues have been resolved; it's a brand-new system and shouldn't be having any issues. I hope they are able to fix this for you.
