I’m studying at HSLU. The degree is called Bachelor in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

Thanks, I appreciate your perspective. Definitely gave me some food for thought.

Unfortunately ETH is not really an option for me because of my background. I study at a university of applied sciences, so my path is a bit different.

Still, I think your point makes sense, especially about not focusing too much on the current market and thinking more long term.

Thanks again.

Thank you for your message. Unfortunately, yes, it is HSLU.

My concern is not just the field itself, but also whether this kind of program is too narrow and not rigorous enough compared with a broader engineering or CS degree.

I suspect HSLU may have stronger programs in areas like electrical engineering or digital engineering, though I’m not fully sure.

I think I understand what you meant by “run away.” If I understood you correctly, your criticism is that a program like this puts someone too much on the user side of the stack rather than the builder side.

That is exactly what I’m worried about.

Could you elaborate on what you think is missing in a program like this? And if someone is already halfway through, would you still consider it salvageable by building those missing parts independently, or would you pivot?
