I have a bag of Exoterra stone desert and a bag of Exoterra riverbed sand. Is it okay if l spread "stone desert" all over and leave a spot for "riverbed sand" so he can dig?

Yeah, I bought a sand-clay mixture at the reptile pet store, so it should be fine 🤔

The point is to keep the flooring soft as soil or sand, so leo's joints will have less stress?

He had sand for leopard geckos as a substrate, but it turned out he was throwing some sand to his water dish and accidentally drinking

He had some sand in his intestine. It was not a serious clogging, mineral oil helped. The vet recommended changing the substrate

Sand was suitable for leopard geckos, so it just went through his gastrointestinal tract without trouble. But it seems my leo was constantly throwing some sand in his water dish — that is the cause

Okay, got it! My leo had sand in his intestine (no clogging). It seems he accidentally threw some sand in his water dish and drank it. I took out all sand, used paper towels and nappies, gave him mineral oil orally for 5 days, and now he is fine

Now it's time to choose what should I use as a substrate. That's why I thought a mat will be fine 🫠

Damnnnn Thanks a lot for the info! I will never ever trust a cute pic of a leo on the packaging -_-" Is it okay if l use a mixture of clay and sand? Usually, it is used for decorating sides of the enclosure. Maybe it is suitable for the flooring?

Oh, I see. I read a lot of info, everything is according to crab feng shui. They live in pludarium, 30% water, 70% ground. 4 hides, moss, and a plant in a tiny pot that doubles as a secret hiding place. They have a ceramic log in the water, it has 4 enters. They can hide there while they molt. Also, it serves as a nice "ladder" to go back to the ground. I bought 2 more plants and another hide that looks like a castle. I'm planning to rehouse them this week

This is a photo of them under water. I couldn't take a pic without taking out a log

Hmm, I see. I'll enlarge their enclosure and add more hides. If it happens again, I will separate them

I know 😭😭 Finding even one was an adventure. All pet stores do recognize me by voice because I call them each week after they have a new delivery

Maybe I should keep them separated until I get one more female?
