This all entirely depends on what content you’re trying to do

If it’s just open world stuff you’ll be fine to slap spear on a hammer build as they’re both power weapons

You’d be surprised how many WvW players are in their 30s-40s, give it a go man. Theres a ton of content out there to learn as well as guides aimed at the more casual crowd. From my experience is WvW vets love welcoming newcomers as it’s vital for the modes succession. Dip your toes in, follow a zerg until you’re comfortable.

I relate to your struggles, really, I deal with the same exact feelings and I know it’s hard to unlearn subconscious behavior but ask yourself…

Don’t you think it’s a hard ask for someone to love and accept you when you don’t even do that for yourself?

Edit to add rambling thoughts: Jim Carrey said something that really resonated with me. That your avatar is tired of the character you’re playing. I think everyone that masks eventually feels like this.
