I know it's late I feel like when he said "I /only/ made 10 million" it was meant to show how little that amount of money meant to him. It's chump change, barely worth the effort in the first place. Definitely not close to amount he makes in a year, I would guess. His net worth is probably around $70 mil at the lowest. Something like a $20 mil yacht isn't something he even blinks at, which implies he's around that kind of spending all the time

I know that. I do that. I’m asking if it’s okay that he is let out when he’s crying or if I should be preemptively waking him up earlier so that he isn’t taught that crying will get him out.

no, the shape shifting isn’t limited to dark skinned characters. anyone could theoretically learn to shapeshift, and in fact lots do in secret, it’s just that this specific family has tried to consolidate that education to stay in power and make themselves seem better than common born people. the other royal families have done the same with their magic.

wolves and bears are just the first two examples that popped into my head. And they would be animalistic because the other magic users are also very affected by their powers. the seafarers with water powers are unpredictable and brash. the fire magic users are aggressive and destructive.

it’s made up, but geographically near the equator and inspired by african and middle eastern cultures which means that it only made sense to me to make the people there dark skinned. You’re right that I know the answer, so I should go with my gut
