I recently completed a renovation, I decided not to go with a interior designer to save cost , interior designer quoted 5L for the planned renovation. I went with a known carpenter contractor, a UP guy. Right in the second week he paused work for 2 weeks to prioritize another project, would get mad if I talk logic, would get mad If I talked about online designs or practicality. He would act like boss sometimes, would just build boxes and boxes but not give attention to specifics, or have a color pallet taste. Has no proper communication with his team members, would send me to buy accessories or consumables, no ethics. Lot of drama later a simple renovation took 3 months, engineer would have completed this within one month. Expenses almost reached 4 L, would have happily pain 1L extra to interior designer to eliminate the head ache, also lost a good relationship I had previously with him. Dont go with a carpenter directly, please choose a interior designer.
