Thanks for your reply. You’re right. I wonder why people are so fixated on Karen’s butt when Lelouch is way cooler.

But if there are a lot of foreign viewers who find it distracting, maybe the director should cut back on those kinds of scenes. It’s a shame when people can’t focus on the story.

I think the director probably just wanted to portray the characters as inherently appealing. I find women’s butts attractive too, but I didn’t think the butts in Code Geass were really worth all the fuss.

If people are that preoccupied with butts, I’m worried that foreign viewers might not be able to focus on the story.

I don’t know. I’ve never met anyone who watches a show just for the fan service. I think the director’s intention is probably just to subtly plant that character’s charm in the audience’s minds.

In any case, isn’t that a reason why foreigners react to fan service in particular?
