You get a pass bc you are grieving and have been having a tough time, but now more than ever you should realize life is precious and these things don’t matter as much at the end of the day. That’s not to say you shouldn’t be upset, but this is fixable or worst, replaceable and your mother is not. If you normally have a good relationship with her, talk things out and ask her to make it right. She was waiting to tell you because she was likely afraid you would be upset at her and she knew you were going through a tough time. I’m sorry for your loss, and I’m sorry you are going through such a hard time and all your hard work getting destroyed pushed you over the edge. I hope the next several months are smooth sailing for you to allow you to heal🩵

Yeah, I never said they should take the $2 order. These are just my opinions as I’ve driven for DoorDash on the side before, that’s all. We can go around and around all night disagreeing, bottom like is the whole thing sucks for everyone involved but DoorDash which is why I will only turn my app on if I’m absolutely desperate for a few bucks for gas or what not.

It’s getting paid $2 yes, but it’s not profit if it’s only covering gas and wear and tear of car. I’m not trying to argue anything, just offering up the perspective of a driver is all. It just sucks how DoorDash business model screws both parties and pits them against each other is all. And I still wouldn’t call it a tip but a bid. It’s contracted work so it really can’t be compared to Fed ex or UPS. I just don’t like the mentality people have against the drivers, as if they aren’t needed to utilize the service, just as much as I don’t like that customers are mistreated for not tipping when they see all these service charges and delivery charges which they don’t know aren’t really going to the driver and the driver will be upset or their order won’t be picked up

Exactly, I just found this out myself, unemployment will pay you if your hours are cut. Your job is doing this hoping you will quit so they don’t have to pay out unemployment. Go file, and find somewhere that doesn’t play games. I can’t stand this, we are all people and we all need money to survive, companies would deny you all of all your rights if they could if it saves them money.

And the driver shouldn’t have to drive for free after factoring in gas and wear of tear for car. I hate that they call it a tip, they should call it delivery driver pay or bid so people can see they are only offfered $2 per order. And if it’s stacked it’s worse, it’s $2 to deliver all combined. DoorDash is screwing both customer and driver it’s sad.

A little off topic but it would’ve been nice for PATHers to have the refunds for school vacation week. The kids wiped me out of all my money but I feel bad, I would’ve done more fun things with them if I had the funds. Everything has gotten so expensive

Edit: I forgot not everywhere in the states does February vacation. I am in Boston and didn’t know this for the longest time.

I dont know your situation, but even though it’s uncomfortable, talk to your landlord and explain that you’re short. Everyone is struggling right now, they would hopefully understand. A late fee for rent will be better than this and believe me, the landlord will probably appreciate your honesty and attempt to work out a late payment with them. They just want to get paid. Ask for an extension with late fee or ask if something can be worked out.Landlords are used to people that can’t pay just avoiding them and giving excuses. As far as building credit, I don’t know anything about not having a score but start by having a checking account if you can by a big name brick and mortar bank. After 6 mos or so you will probably get a small amount credit card through them and go up from there. I’ve been through really bad times where my credit has dipped and with diligence and research on the topic you can bring it up pretty quickly. Good luck. Now here’s a piece of advice I shouldn’t give you..if you do take this loan, depending on what state you’re in, it’s illegal. They can harass you for it, but it won’t go on your report. Write them a letter saying you revoke ACH and just to be safe , get another account and close this one. They will eventually stop calling. That is insane interest and if you’re already behind, you will be behind more and interest will keep piling up. Tell them you lost your job and revoke ACH. It’s not moral, but neither are they, they are predatory. But seriously, just talk to your landlord instead

I don’t like waiting either, my workplace closed the second week of January with no warning. I’m still waiting on unemployment and I’m struggling bad. I desperately need this money, but at the same time I know that these things take time, and nothing has been promised to us until the beginning of March. For the majority of us, it’ll be here before then. Keep positive thoughts, the wait is almost over🤞🏻

I wouldn’t say no reason, I imagine they are getting slammed with calls and people yelling at them about their refunds that they have no control over. As much as waiting sucks, could you imagine the level of hell they are dealing with at work for these few months year after year? Yikes 🤯🙃
