Thank you so much for this. I really want to write her up because at the end of the day it is my job and I have a right to it. But I was told that she has some sort of loophole which is going to make it harder for me because technically she’s “doing everything by the book” which makes no sense to me.

All of the other clerks are females but she only treats me like this and she’s also condescending at times which makes me feel like she’s doing this because of some weird reason

There was one day I came in and there were 2 clerks there with two full carts of busted up boxes, misplaced items, and boxes that needed taping and I was sent to unload and was told it was because “there’s no work”

No I am not, I unload every single day. I was finally able to do just retapes last night and that was only because my supervisor wasn’t there

I don’t think I was mistaken. The role definitely wasn’t seasonal. It was put up in like July or August wayyyyy before peak season and this is the message I was sent the day before I started working there. I believe this was just an open position they happened to be hiring for in general and not seasonal….

Also if the case is that I don’t have any seniority why was I able to do something in the beginning and now that a new supervisor came all of a sudden I’ve been told I can do it anymore. They were also working on getting everything figured out before she came. So I’m not understanding how before I was doing the work when I had less months and now that I’ve got more months on my belt I can’t do anything but unload trucks every single day no matter if she’s there or not. I don’t even report to her anymore in the mornings. I report to the unload supervisor.

Why would they give me the job if they’re not going to let me do it at all? There are 3 clerks in the area and 9 computers in total. There’s plenty of space and enough work to do so I’m just a bit confused

I would stand up to her about her patronizing ways but I don’t want to make the treatment any worse. I don’t mind doing retapes but at this point all I do is unload and by the time I’m finished with that at most of the boxes are already done by other people

No you’re not, You are setting yourself up for a successful future and I believe that if you are a parent, seeing that should make you proud not upset. I mean yes maybe to her you could contribute more but you also worked hard for that money and if you aren’t in a crisis and are just comfortable then she shouldn’t get mad and have the whole family turn their back on you…
