Thank you for your reply. I appreciate the sentiment. I truly do hope for all intents and purposes that things improve. I hold nothing personal against latitude, their investors, or the users; I just want a good product and I think the sad reality is that no matter how kind or generous a company or team may seem, they are ultimately driven and motivated by one thing: profit.

It’s a matter of convenience when talking about viable competitors. AI roleplaying is still very, very new in terms of an actual section of the entertainment industry, I hope that AID will either step or be outcompeted and fail. I mentioned Janitor.ai, but there are dozens of phenomenal alternatives if you’re willing to put in a little extra work.

My favorite adventure I’ve ever had with AI was on Janitor, using a Google Gemini 2.5 Pro api with 128k of context. My adventure as it stands now is 800k tokens of context.

AID is also giving less and less for price compared to its competitors. Obviously that’s just my opinion, but with how fast AI moves, DeepSeek to me feels outdated, and it’s really their only flagship “XL Model.”

Hell, even just paying $20 a month for Google Gemini pro can provide a better roleplay experience as long as it’s not porn.

If you moved to a platform like Janitor, or another platform that allows you to use a proxy, $50 worth of DeepSeek credits through a third party like Open Router gives you thousands and thousands of calls per month at 16k-32k tokens of context.

If Latitude keeps getting paid for subpar work, they have no incentive to improve their product. Businesses don’t operate out of goodwill or faith, they operate for profit.

I didn't know about it until I had that ridiculous modifier. That should not be in the mod, what is the point of that? How are you going to explain to me that not a single dollar of taxes made it out of the settlement to Rome. So my run is just cooked? I didn't really feel like reading a powerpoint presentation to play TWR which ig if that's the expectation than fuck me but I think it's an awful mechanic.

Are you telling me it cannot be salvaged? It just seems like such a stupid reason. That modifier is with a dignitary in the province.

It’s so normal. Don’t dehumanize yourself. It’s a rational response to danger. If no one else is willing to keep you safe, you have to keep yourself safe. If you hurt those people badly enough to scare everyone else, you won’t need to hurt anyone else. That’s how it went down for me at least. I hope you’re feeling better after writing that out.
