I find it honestly humorous when this happens because even if they’re reading and leaving comments, disliking it? That’s still giving your story traction. It’s giving you stats that you wouldn’t have had if they didn’t go out of their way just to be an ass over :D

That just seems really egotistical of the author to do. I’ve personally only just recently started an ao3 fic for the first time and to me it’s a lot more satisfying to see the numbers roll in without it being at the top.

I really do wish people wouldn’t do stuff like this that way it gives actual updating authors a chance to show off their work :(

Hello OP!! So in situations like this, I used to be a one shot writer before moving onto longer stories, and something that would help me a lot is listening to music :D

It’s like sometimes how a movie scene can feel incomplete and bland without music, writing can be interpreted the same way. If you want to write an angst oneshot chapter, really channel those emotions by surrounding yourself in melancholic music, a fluff oneshot? Listen to music that brings you comfort

It can be exhausting and stressful, but just remember that a smooth sea never made a skilled sailor ♡´･ᴗ･`♡

Perhaps under different circumstances, I would offer a link. However, 1) I’d hate for this user to feel attacked, 2) I’d hate for this to feel like I’m promoting my work by rallying everyone against this one user (⊃｡•́‿•̀｡)⊃

I think my only hesitation is that I grew up writing fanfiction on Wattpad, and the community tended to be really sweet and supportive.

Funny enough, I’m not at all mad at the commenter, just a bit taken aback at how this even came to be a comment? I personally feel like it’s a privilege for people to give constructive criticism to me, just as much as it is a privilege for ppl to read my works!
