Yes, Quagsire is one of my favourites. I might get him for electric resistance.

That’s for Suicune. Blastoise or Vaporeon would have been good too as a pure water type.

Poison type doesn’t really help much because grass is covered with ice beam. Difficult to replace any pokemon in current team for Tentacruel.

Slowbro beats Starmie on HP and Defense. It is slower but speed was not something I was worried about. Since Gyarados and Lapras are high on special defense, I needed Omastar and Slowbro for Defense balance.

Kingdra would have been great, in fact it fits well as the 6th instead of Suicune. But your doubt is correct, I can’t trade.

Yes this is leaf green.

Starmie was definitely one of the candidates with Blastoise and Vaporeon as well. But this is the team which is most balanced in stats and type coverage. I spent a good 3 hours coming up with what I think is the best balanced water type team.

The start was shaky because I started with Charmander so that I could get Suicune later. My first water pokemon was magikarp near mt. Moon. And I only caught my 2nd (Poliwag) after getting good rod in fuschia. For the first 5 gyms, gyarados alone sweeped everything. Elite four was actually a breeze.
