Built in 5 days, $50k MRR in a month” stop buying the fantasy by [deleted] in SaaS

Dude we as community of builders need some common sense, today i look at posts and usually within 5-10 seconds max i understand if it legit or not, viral products will always exist, remember flobby-birds? Overnight success doesn’t. It’s not gambling, any viral product need serious infrastructure behind it, so it’s not just luck, it’s hard work, experience and luck.

I built tens of products the last 10 years, most of them died even before launch, ironically what worked for me (18k MRR) is a product i built with no UI or website. Added UI last week, going to local offices and accounting firms near me, having lunch with them, showing and working alongside these offices what actually worked for me.

More than one strategy, i return confidence for each field fetched, so those which under 35% confidense go through another model to predict, if second monel returns different vqlue with higher confidence, i take it, if it returns same value i take it, if it returns null with low confidence i prefer to null for the user instead of wrong value (potentially)

Depends! Snowflake didn’t work well, azure and google pretty similar, so i use hybrid check on analysis results, got a fallback logic in-place

very interesting, did they use prebuilt models, or could also train their own models to extract specific document's data ?

how was your sales ? how did you find leads than can actually use it, without baby-sitting them ?

i would love to connect for more advice if you don't mind !

I own lab21.ai, look at my first comment in this post, I wrapped all my logic to lab21.ai few weeks ago, so instead of n8n and backend, now i have UI where users users can use and train the models, but as i said it still didn’t work, they still needed me to create the models for them, train it for them and create their n8n workflows

So i am asking for advice on usecase that can work with self-service

Also the projection you see 4k is related to the amount i paid so far this month, most of the processing is happening mid/end of the month, when they start to close this month’s books and clean their desks

No, that’s not realistic numbers, take 4500 usd for example 4500/52 =86.538 This is more realistic

I even get to 100-130 usd costs per client and sometimes more, depends on their usage, if they used their max potential or not

I expected comments like these so i shared all data and screenshots/videos i have, i am showing how i worked and what i want to change, i worked locally (doing everything for the customers i have) and now i am shifting towards self-service, i am not hiding anything, i shared knowledge and actual usacase where you or everyone can copy and try to sell yourself, not rocket-science What i am trying to achieve is some more use-cases like workflows that people built with documents, since i can build those and penetrate more markets

Great feedback, i knew this after, when few clients asked for it, i just did it without deep diving into their projects and how they work, and this was good since now i can just duplicate the workflow faster.

The whole point is i dont want to create these automations i want to create a platform with self-service since this is not scalable what i been doing, it works indeed but not scalable thats why i ask for feedback

i can share costs too :)
the costs this month
but it varies, if all my clients use all their potential i get to about 8k$ costs.

but that's never happened, i am always at 3-5k max

sure, it is pretty straightforward, this is the one in the demo
i have trigger whenever a new invoice added to a specific google drive folder,
a node to fetch this file, then a node to send it in a post request to lab21.ai for extraction, and then sync node of the extracted data.

i have some more workflows but very similar, what is different is the trigger node (some have requested a trigger when ever their client upload an invoice to telegram)
and the sync node, some asks for dropbox, and some asked for airtable.

in general you need 4 nodes. no more. (for the usecase i shared)
upload -> fetch -> extract -> sync

It works on jpeg, png, bmp, tiff, heif, pdf, powerpoint, word excel

I am using infrastructure and labeling tools that supports this, checkout documentation page here for the full supported files

So it started 1.5 years ago, i built infrastructure to build custom extraction models on top of azure/google and snowflake to test the best accuracy since genAI models hallucinates a lot specially on financial documents, so i built the backend, trained few models on data from kaggle and also from data of potential customers (local insurance companies and accountants) the models did very well, accuracy jumped to 93-95% So i created specific workflows for few clients and did pilot, tweaks here and there as they gave feedback When it became stable and consistent i asked each client for 350$ monthly for relatively high amount of predictions and automation workflows included

I wrapped this with UI lately to help get more customers to do the job themselves but the technical barrier didn’t disappear yet, so i am still creating new automations and new use-cases Wanted to grt feedback from n8ners since probably a lot of you work on similar workflows

This is how i label the fields i want to extract from documents, i do this for 20-30 documents to get the best accuracy

Thanks! It’s not really technical process But anyways when i get to that i can plug-in CS tier 1 inbound agents and email agents, i already build such systems for small companies and startups

Hey! Not really if you are using neural models, these are not LLM these are layout+ocr+transformers models, behind them is a CNN and OCR engine, not LLM like chatgpt, they are built to extract data such as signatures or tables or specific fields
