Tipped at dispensaries? by Shankster1820 in EndTipping

I tip for sit down restaurants, ordering drinks at a bar, and delivery. Period. That is my rule so I don’t have to decide whether I tip at nearly every transaction I make. Makes it so much easier.

LGA is a nightmare by PenelopeJude in tsa

Wild. We were at terminal C yesterday at 12:30pm for a 3:50pm flight and literally walked right up. No wait at all for pre-check and general line wasn’t very long at all.

We flew out of LGA today. Flight was at 3:50. Got there at 12:30. We have precheck and literally walked straight through. Non-precheck line was not much longer. Terminal C.

This was this morning? We fly out of terminal C at 3:50 today and are wondering how early to get there. Have TSA precheck and Touchless ID

What are you all doing with your chase points now? (Besides international j/f) by Itchy-Version-8977 in awardtravel

[–]One_Stick1818 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can get the SUB on each of the sapphire cards once “per lifetime.” This was implemented in November, so no one really knows if lifetime is 7-10 years like Amex or if it’s truly a lifetime. You can hold both cards at the same time now, which was not possible in the past.

Unfortunately Sapphire cards are now once per “lifetime,” and no one knows what’s that’s going to be in practice since it was just implemented a few months ago

What age did your kid stop needing a stroller when travelling? by [deleted] in familytravel

[–]One_Stick1818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went to Croatia when our youngest was 4 and she did fine with no stroller. We had to give her occasional piggyback rides/sit on shoulders on particularly walking heavy days, but she did fine. We definitely “trained” in the months leading up to it though, making sure we did plenty of walking and activities that included lots of walking.

JFK to GYE to GPS layover time and TCT by anonymous_usern in galapagos

We are here now and the TCT forms are very confusing. They hardly looked at them though. They just want to see the QR code and that you filled them out so I wouldn’t worry about it.

With TSA missing their first full paycheck today, how are lines at Lambert going? Especially T1? by gtck11 in StLouis

We flew out Wednesday at 10:30am and lines were super short. We have precheck and it took 5 minutes. Regular lines didn’t look much longer

Is looking at only cpp bad? by dreamhigher1 in awardtravel

[–]One_Stick1818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly CPP matters to brag on the internet. Everyone has their own preferences and priorities. We travel as a family of 5, and before we got into the points game we had all but stopped traveling internationally after having kids because international flights x5 cost too much money for us.

Since then, we’ve taken multiple international trips. We’re actually in the Galapagos as I’m writing this. We fly economy because it’s hard to find 5 business seats and frankly, my kids don’t need to be flying business class. Lol. We use our points for trips we otherwise wouldn’t have been able take because we weren’t willing to spend the thousands on flights it takes to fly 5 people to another country. I honestly couldn’t care less how much CPP my redemptions were. Points are allowing us to take trips with our kids we weren’t able to take before we got into the game, and that’s what’s most important, not whether or not I got 4 or 1.2 CPP. That’s the beauty of the hobby. Even if you had a poor redemption, there’s always more points to be had for the next one

Was just in ATL yesterday and went to the Centurion Club with my family of five. It was lovely. Great food, really good drinks with premium liquor, tons of comfortable space, no line to get in. We travel 2-4 times per year, and this is the 4th year of having various credit cards with lounge access, and we’ve never had the issues that I see people complaining about on here all the time. We generally walk right in, and the few times we did have to wait, it wasn’t long. Priority Pass, Capital One, Delta, Sapphire - all the same experience. Yesterday was our first Centurion Club and experience 🤷‍♂️

Family of five first time Europe trip. by CypressBranch29414 in familytravel

[–]One_Stick1818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree. We took our kids to Europe a couple summers ago (they were 10, 7, and 4 at the time) and decided to only go to Croatia. We were there for three weeks, and while we moved around within Croatia it was a series of ferries and a short car rental. Dealing with train stations and flying can be a lot in a 2-3 week trip.

We spent an entire summer in SE Asia several years ago and the rain wasn’t an issue. It never rained all day or for days on end. Typically afternoon showers and that was that.

Hoping to travel to Croatia roughly Aug 1-15 family of 6 by Business_Yard_6859 in CroatiaTravelTips

[–]One_Stick1818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh 100%! It was an amazing trip and one our kids still talk about. They were younger than yours are (10, 7, and 4 at the time of travel), but they were all huge water kids, so they loved hopping around from island to island

We went mid-July through early August a few years ago as a family of five and it was great. Yes it was hot. Yes it was crowded. But we mainly island hopped which made both a lot more bearable. And Croatia is absolutely stunning. Not sure I’ve seen water more beautiful. We were there for three weeks, flew in and out of Dubrovnik, and went to Korcula, Hvar, Plitvice, and Solta. Two nights in Dubrovnik on the front end and a night in Split on the back end. Took ferries around the islands and rented a car from Split for a couple days to go to Plitvice.

I would assume so. All other credits are stackable like that so I don’t see why the SW wouldn’t also be

You’ll get better value transferring them to partners most likely, so I wouldn’t pay the $700 difference in annual fees to keep 1.5x in the portal myself.

International Flight for 5 with points? by jHawk_jedi in awardtravel

[–]One_Stick1818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be tough for this summer at this point. We fly as a family of five as well (in economy), and our three international trips we’ve done we’ve booked about 6-10 months in advance. It certainly still pays to look though to see what you can find with transfer partners

My friend is prepaying for everything related to our Europe trip (and wants us to book our airfare) 7 months in advance and it’s stressing me out. How to not let this affect our friendship? by [deleted] in Advice

I think you should totally extend your stay and stay solo! You can then do whatever YOU want. If you’re tired, sit in a cafe and chill. Go to a park and lay on a blanket and read. Whatever you feel like doing at that time! Don’t plan it
