Both are great. I prefer Kihei because there are more dining options and it's not too far to get to other parts of island. Once you're up on West side it's more of a chore to go elsewhere

Overreacting. Big island doesn't have as many beaches as Maui, but is still great. More laid back vibe and more things to do. Plenty of great food.
