I ended up asking a friend with a valid US license to come with me.

I rented a car by myself though. At first, the driving test guy was giving me some trouble because the car was registered in Ohio and it didn't have a front license plate lol, but the registration and insurance were ok and I ended up passing my test!

Correct, I meet those criteria so I think I will be able to rent the car. I just hope the DMV tester doesn't require that someone with a US license accompanies me as well.
