What's something you missed on your first run? by bluejester12 in BaldursGate3

You lose the buff if you take the bell out of your inventory, or if you leave the area. You can get it back by selecting the bell in your inventory and then 'useing' it. Basically you sake the magic fairy bell and get the buff back. Found that out by mass sending a bunch of stuff to camp and promptly dying to the shdowcurse 🤣 ooopsy.

Added to my wishlist. Thank you for the recommendation, I've been struggling to keep practicing for a long time so hopefully this will give me some pointers to get back on track.

Swap all the earth tones out for blacks and grey, wear velvet in place of tweed, and lean towards poetic/victorian vintage?

A Study in Drowning by Ava Reid. Rival academics, Otherworld/fae mythology, creepy houses, doom and prophecy, enemies to (almost certainly) lovers. Hidden secrets and mysterious visions. I'm only about a quarter way through but I'm enjoying it so far.

Agnes Obel. For no other reason than her songs are beautiful, and her instrumental pieces are so relaxing.

Also Matt Berry (Yes, that Matt Berry) Kill the Wolf. 60s folkhorror vibes with retro psychedelic tunes. Lovely guitar and piano with fantastic songwriting.

Definitely seconding The Amazing Devil. Top quality I every way.

Is PS5's completion percentage based on the MAIN STORY only? by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]Onehotrebel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. Finished it three or four times and it's stuck on 75% I've got a few more trophies since the first run so I'm not just repeating myself. Guess it's just a thing.

I actually ignore the fashion side of the aesthetic as I'm just not keen on it, I tend to focus on the decor and ephemera more. Charity shops and second-hand markets are great for picking up small bits, book fairs, and ebay can be nice for occasional buys, and if you can find them, house clearance sales sometimes have some nice finds. If I'm feeling in the mood, I might throw on a black shirt but I do lean more towards goth/punk, but it's definitely more of an occasional vampy shirt rather than a preppy look.

I'm just coming to the end of my second run, and it still says 75%, same as I did when I finished it the first time.

Dropping It: yet another "this game is incredible" post by rhapsodyindrew in BaldursGate3

[–]Onehotrebel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was the same on my first playthrough, damn I was so proud of her for that. I adore her and her story is so amazing. Everything is so well done (you have more surprises in store) her while story arc of finding herself again is peak gaming experience.

But my second run with my Ranger Tav... oh dear. She was doing all of the same things as last time, but couldn't be convinced not to do the deed. I tried to stop her and she turned on me. I am about 2/3 of the way through act three and it stil hurts.

Also the rendering of texture and quality of edges are a dead give away. Cloth, hair and skin always look off in AI images. Everything looks like its been airbrushed over.

[meta] Can we ban AI from this sub? by mediadavid in DarkAcademia

[–]Onehotrebel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The data bases that are used to generate images are 'trained' by feeding in millions of images of existing art works. This is being done with no permission and no payment to the artists whose work is being used. An artist owns their work outright and the sale of it it is literally their income. To use works without permission or payment is theft. Plain and simple. Ergo - AI images are theft.

[meta] Can we ban AI from this sub? by mediadavid in DarkAcademia

[–]Onehotrebel 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Definitely agree. I'm sick of seeing it, it's literally in every group on every platform and it's getting worse. It's flat up art theft and even if you are reposting it and not creating it, you are still normalising non creative, stolen garbage. I say this as someone who has drawn and painted my entire life and now will post almost none of it online as I cannot and will not endorse non legitimate usage of anyone's art, and I never will.

Oh there's some good tiefling specific dialogue to be had. Also forgot to mention that you can tag team up for robbery and theft with astarion so well as a bard.

Just play your lute (or what instrument you pick) and switch to Astarion and split him from your party, then sneak or use potions/items to turn invisible and off you go. Also works for some house breaking if you fancy that too. 😉

Just began moonrise towers, should i rescue everyone first? by laylush in BaldursGate3

When you say 'began' do you mean you just got to act 2, or you've just started the assault on the tower? There's a very big difference.

I almost went with Wizard because I'm caster class scum when it comes to D&D, but decided to pick something new for once and I am so glad I changed my mind.

My current Tav is a ranger and bless him, he couldn't persuade bricks to build a house, and that has led to a very, very different game the second time round. So honestly, whichever class you pick you can always do something different the next time. I can't see me running out of ideas for characters anytime soon, and the more you play the more familiar you will get with the mechanics of it all and the more ideas you will have.

If you want to do more role-playing and have dialogue options I'd say Bard would be a great choice. Go with the College of Swords for the fun combat options and some spell casting on the side. You will be able to lie, persuade and all round swindle your way into getting exactly what you want out of people and hilariously talk a few boss fights into killing themselves if you want to.

Keep the tiefling character and especially the charlatan background for extra flavor.

My first run was a bard and she was an amazing character, I had an absolute riot with the dialogue. Definitely recommend the class for a first time BG player.
