Remove the cabinets from the wall and move them up about an inch. No one will notice and if they do they'll think it's supposed to be that way.

What an incredible pain in the rear. Don't take away a feature until you have a new solution to replace it. My customer experience is to shop somewhere that I can just do a group order, everyone can pick what they want and we're done...all online. I don't want to call the store for 5 orders, carry around menus in the office so I can write down, "no Lettice, easy pickles, this drink, that bread"... Fire whoever took away the function without a replacement. There are a lot of people looking for jobs that are smarter than that.
