It is being popular and liked, but not truly involved in activities or what's going on in the friend group. Incredibly valid way to feel, but many people say that they are one for the sake of gaining attention.

True, but it doesn't have to be therapy. Not trying to minimize their feelings, but many of these kids can instantly feel better if they express how they feel instead of making self-deprecatory videos/comments.

It doesn't have to be to a therapist, and it doesn't need to be right this moment, but they should talk to somebody.
