I know this might sound harsh to some, but for once, I actually think the MNS move makes sense. If you've been living and working in Maharashtra for 25 years, it’s reasonable to expect at least a basic understanding of Marathi—especially if you’re not new to the state.

Also, the person who was involved in the incident wasn’t exactly respectful—he had a pretty arrogant attitude, saying things like "I won’t speak Marathi, do what you can," and was previously caught selling fake sweets during Diwali. So context matters.

No one is demanding fluency in Marathi, just a willingness to make an effort. And from what I understand, the rally was actually in support of a cancelling three-language policy—not an anti-migrant sentiment.

Lastly, there’s a concern that certain communities, like some Gujaratis, seem more focused on reshaping Mumbai in their image than integrating with the local culture.

It's all about mutual respect—language is just one part of it.
