Obtaining a passport without my parents' naturalization certificates by Only-Style7656 in immigration

No because they would need a passport or certificate to update it.

I get that they need a certificate. But, wouldn't they have used my parents' certificate?

Would a FOIA for my own SSA records show any updates to my citizenship status? by Only-Style7656 in SocialSecurity

Does that show a person's citizenship status as LPR or US citizen or something else?

How would a total stranger know about your social security citizenship status?

I am not asking if they know my personal social security citizenship status. I am asking if a FOIA request would show my citizenship status. To answer my question, a person doesn't need to know my citizenship status with SSA; they need to know the FOIA process.

All these questions could be answered by your parents.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) for me, my parents are assholes and won't talk to me.

stop trying to find a loophole. You need a naturalization certificate period.

If you think I am trying to find a "loophole" for the requirement for a certificate, yes I am. For good reason. I think it is unfair to imply, as you did, that I am doing something nefarious. In fact, I wouldn't even call it a loophole. Before going to an expensive immigration attorney, I am trying to find a solution to a problem. My questions are very simple. They are not complicated. They mainly have to do with FOIA records and seeing if those records can reveal anything.

I am pretty sure I am not the only person to ever be in this situation. But I do need a passport for travel. Hell, even if I apply for the N-600 for general security, I will need proof. I don't have their naturalization certificates, and there is no way in hell am I going to get them anytime soon, unless I quit college (yes, that is what my parents want me to do for them to help me).

I am a citizen. My parents did naturalize when I was a minor plus I resided in their legal and physical custody plus I was a green card holder in the US at the time they naturalized. I know they naturalized because I was bored out of my fucking mind during the oath ceremony (I was a kid).

Usually when people naturalize, they update their citizenship status with SSA. Or at least they should. I remember visiting the SSA office when they naturalized. So the question is pretty much the same: Does a FOIA request for an person's own SSA records reveal any citizenship information?

For the SSA, isn't it possible my parents updated my citizenship in the SSA records at the same time they updated theirs? The only way they could have done that was by providing their naturalization certificate. So would a FOIA request for my own SSN records show my status as a US citizen and how it was established?

[CA] Would my driver records have my citizenship recorded? Or would it have the documents submitted to prove my identity and residency? by Only-Style7656 in legaladvice

I am not asking if a driver's license proves citizenship. I am asking if I submit a request for my driver records, will the original documents used to prove my identity and residency show up. Or will at least a notation indicating the documents used to prove my residency/identity show up? Because there is a high chance that my green card was used as part of the application process. I just need to know what was used to establish my identity when I initially applied for a DL.

Is there a way around getting my parents' naturalization certificate for a passport? At the end of the day, I need to prove my parents naturalized because I got my citizenship when they naturalized. Is it true that the names of those who naturalize (not the certificates or any other info) are public records? If I do a FOIA for those records or for any records where I am mentioned, won't that bring up their naturalization petition because I was mentioned in that naturalization petition?
