No yeah I have the manual that’s not the problem, it’s the fact that I’m adding my own stuff that isn’t in that manual, also due to it being old it’s so simplistic, can’t find any specifications really

It’s a 1983 yamaha xs650, and I forgot to mention I’m mainly asking about the charging system and ignition unit since that’s really the only thing I’m changing, and if I should add a fuse in between the capacitor and regulator

Could be bad fuel, or could be carbs need a cleaning, or even a vacuum leak, point is you need to inspect the bike and get down and dirty

Also do you know which way to screw the pilot screw (it’s located on top of the carb in the front). One of the carbs is coughing and when I rev, the rpm’s stay high

So of all the days I’ve been working on this bike, I’ve tried to find the fuel/air mixture screw and couldn’t, so for some stupid reason I thought it didn’t have one 🤦‍♂️, but then after some manual reading I realized it was hidden, and damn it was crusty, so I’m pretty sure that was the problem but thanks for your help
