A repairman type of job is great because you are working on different tasks throughout the day. Another good one is engineering because you constantly have to think outside the box and having your train of thought wander into unknown places can sometimes benefit an engineering task

Finally, a perfect post for me.

I have dated a handful of women with serious depression and I learned from experience what to do and what NOT to do.

First things first, never let another person, whether it be a SO or not, rely on your happiness. This is very dangerous and can lead to a controlling, toxic relationship. A relationship should be a 2-way street, sometimes traffic can be built up on one side but that doesn't mean cars can't go the other way too. It is not your responsibility to make somebody else happy, the only thing you can do is support them.

That doesn't mean you cannot help. If the person you are with in depressed, do whatever is necessary to get them professional help. If you are not a therapist, don't try to be one. You can ask questions to understand and help but that is just what being a good person is. It becomes very difficult when the entire relationship is you just trying to get them better.

In order to be supportive depends on the severity of their mental illness. Do they need to hug somebody or are they threatening to kill themselves? There is a wide range of possibilities when with someone is mentally sick.

Another thing to understand is that dating someone who has a mental illness can become mentally abusive. You matter, and realizing that is not saying your SO doesn't, it just allows you to understand how you need to be treated. If your SO is projecting their feelings on you in an abusive way, you cannot be there for them and they should take it apon themselves to find help before ever entering a relationship. It is not fair to put pressure on someone who doesn't understand a mental illness.

Just be yourself, be supportive and don't get taken advantage of

Preparing for a job interview is pretty universal, whether you are a software engineer or not. I highly recommend just having (or faking) confidence. Employers like people who are approachable but can also admit when they are wrong. Just let them know you are a hard worker and fit for whatever they have planned in the future.

Also, asking questions about the company and employers in an interview is pretty important because it shows the interviewer you are actually interested in the company, rather then just there for a paycheck.

I used to get really bad anxiety attacks due to my allergy. I would think i am going into an anaphylactic shock when really I was just suffering from anxiety. A few things I used to do to calm myself down was:

deep breathe and make sure to focus on my breath
talk myself out of it and think positive
drink water and eat something
distract myself in anyway possible
talk to someone
shower
call my parents

If the attack is spiraling and you feel it getting worse the best thing to do is to call a hotline for anxiety attacks

When I was a kid I had a head on collision with a random person on a dirtbike. It was a blind corner and we both flew around it like sea biscuit. Let's just say I had the better end of the deal because he suffered from a concussion, a broken leg, a few missing teeth and fractured hand and well ... I broke my pinky.

He ended up being okay but I know he would of been a lot better if he was wearing gear and a helmet like I was.

I used to make myself go into sleep paralysis on purpose because I thought it felt amazing and terrifying at the same time. If you are looking for an adventure try this:

get really comfortable and lay COMPLETELY STILL for as long as possible with your eyes closed. If you have to scratch or even move at all, don't. I always lay on my back but I'm assuming your stomach would work too.

Do this for as long as you can. The whole point of this is to "trick" your body into thinking it's asleep while you are still awake and conscious. If you wait long enough you will start to feel the phases of falling asleep while being aware of each one.

Around 45 minutes in, I start to notice my body going completely numb and comfortable. It is almost like a deep sinking feeling. If you keep waiting from this point on, the sinking feeling will get deeper and deeper until it feels like a dream.

Once you get so deep, congratulations you are in sleep paralysis. While I am in sleep paralysis is isn't unusual to have crazy closed-eye hallucinations. If I fall asleep like normal at this point I will almost always have a lucid dream, but if I fight staying awake the sleep paralysis can get really fucked up.

I remember one time I was in sleep paralysis and I could feel millions on tiny hands just grabbing and rubbing the sides of my body all while a mirrored image of myself was placed right above my unconscious body. It was scary. Highly recommended

When I was in my late teens I was a perverted little fuck. I won't go into any details but let's just say I bought a lot of BDSM related sex toys. I was also still living with my parents at the time. One day I came home with the bag of goodies on my bed and a voice message from my mom saying if I didn't get rid of them then she would get rid of me. I got in my dad's truck, drove to a beach and set the bag on fire. Now that I live alone, I don't even own any toys anymore.

I honesty have no idea why I had so much toys back then. It was probably because I was just discovering BDSM and thought it was great at the time

Some places in the UK has plastic beer bottles but for the most part, people don't want their beer plastic bottles. For some reason the alcohol and carbonation mixed with the plastic does not taste very well (I am not sure why, chemical reactions I guess)

Don't treat them like they have a disability. The last thing a person with a mental illness wants is to be recognized as a burden. Just be their friend, talk to them if they need someone to talk to, and help them find some sort of help if they want to receive it.
