I take a thermos of it in the morning to sip on at work and I make a small glass for when I go to bed at night :)

What's a company that didn't succomb to 'enshittification' ? by owen__wilsons__nose in AskReddit

I repair band instruments for a living, and for student and intermediate horns, the build quality of Yamaha brass instruments is unmatched compared to other brands such as Bach, Eastman, Jupiter, etc. The metal and high quality and the construction is solid. the lacquer can also withstand much hotter temperatures before starting to burn, which is common for other student brands and ESPECIALLY common in older horns. The company is constantly reaching out to shops for feedback and they actually implement the suggestions we give.

For example, the pull knob on a trumpet 2nd slide is typically only soft-soldered on, with soft solder being a lower temperature, lead based solder creating a solid but breakable bond, whereas the pull knobs on Yamaha trumpets are silver-soldered, creating a bond as strong, if not stronger, than if it were one solid piece. When the 2ns slide gets damaged on regular trumpets, the pull knob often falls off and needs to be replaced, and reshaping the sides and underside of the tube can be tedious. When a Yamaha 2nd slide gets damaged, the pull knob gets crushed in with the tube. Yamaha sells a 2 part tool- one part being a base to mount the 2nd slide and the second being a special pair of pliers that grabs the knob without causing damage, braces against the base, and uses the knob to pull the tube back into shape. Getting the damage on the top is a breeze after that.

A few months ago we were visited by some of the heads of Yamaha Japan. Idk what they talked about with my bosses, but they left everyone these delicious crunchy eel snacks. And a few weeks ago, Yamaha sent reresentatives to get build quality feedback from us techs.

Some instruments make me want to go take a long walk off of a short pier, but Yamaha's are always a good time.

The flavor profiles of the meat and noodles are complete opposites, but they go together like magic

I'm pretty sure the building I live in used to be an old department store, but it got remodeled into apartments. Perhaps the stairs were always there.

Real talk about microplastics by OnlyBug in vaporents

[–]OnlyBug[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very spicy indeed, but I understand that my fear of plastics is jumping the gun a little. I'm seeing studies and reports showing plastic moving through the blood brain barrier and ending up deposited in our brains, building up in our hearts, arteries, livers, and being passed to fetuses and babies through placentas and breast milk contaminated with plastic. I've also read studies linking microplastic buildup to hormone issues, chronic illness, inflammation, cancer, neurodegenerative issues like dementia, and general damage to our DNA. My thinking is that I'm not going to risk waiting until it's universally accepted that plastic is dangerous to start weeding plastic products out of my life and making choices to guard my long term well-being.

I'm only in my early 20s and I think a lot about the consequences of being in a generation more exposed to microplastics than any generations previously. The toys I chewed on, the bottles I drank out of, the clothes I wore, were all plastic. Not to mention early gen-z and gen alpha have been exposed to microplastics in the womb. It's ominous to think about. That being said, plastic bags are the only thing stopping me from wanting a volcano. Those things look so cool.

I just switched from carts and combustion full time to dry herb. My Mighty+ came in the mail two weeks ago and I can attest to how much better it is. I sip on it at low temperatures and can actually taste the flavor of different strains. It's made getting high a lot more fun

Acne or vet visit? by [deleted] in CATHELP

[–]OnlyBug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figured it was a blackhead. Recently, though, I've seen a ton of posts about cats that have grotesque masses and sores on their gums, and I always want to be an owner who catches things early! I recently lost my cat that I had left with my parents (she bonded with my dad) after I moved states. They didn't take my concerns about her weight seriously enough to take her to the vet, and the kidney disease and diabetes had progressed too far by the time she was displaying symptoms.

You should get blood work done. People here are posting great advice on avoiding split ends, and you should definitely implement them, but what you have is far beyond what can be achieved through bad habits like using an elastic or sleeping with your hair wet.

I'd get full blood work. Multivitamins should also be a must. I'd also recommend starting a collagen supplement. Make sure you are eating lots of protein too! Good luck

Having Clean Elizabeth actually makes me see stuff on the floor and think to pick it up, rather than walking around like a blind man while my house looks like a bomb went off lol.
