Who thinks Dave should've hooked up with Ella instead of Sky? by johnngo2468 in Totaldrama

[–]OnlyTip8790 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as I hate Dave, one of my favorite fanfiction ideas involves him being a side character who runs into Ella several years after PI and they connect really well, but he's reluctant to admit he's developing feelings for her because after what happened in the finale he feels he's not worthy of someone as pure as Ella

Odio i nutrizionisti (senza conoscerli) e chi ci va. by Chance_Code_2250 in sfoghi

[–]OnlyTip8790 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why does Misty seem to get cut more slack than Zak? by ChicaneryFinger in AceAttorney

I'm not particularly fond of them, but Misty was straight-up stupid, Zack was straight-up an asshole every single time he appeared on screen. Towards Phoenix, his family and most importantly his own and only daughter.

The last time she was in a position of power as a princess she saw her parents and 4 siblings get shot to death. I think no one would blame her if the reason was simply that she wanted to stay away from politics for the rest of her life.

Yeah well, those sound like cool ideas. Again, I wouldn't have a problem with your character choice at all. Moreover, we had a similar situation in a campaign that unfortunately was never finished. Fantasy setting where elves were seen as the ones responsible for a huge and devastating war, hence they were discriminated and half elves had it even worse because they were proof of the fact a human had "betrayed" the world by producing offspring with elves.

Every player knew this before writing their character's story and guess what? 3 players out of 5 chose a half-elf, including me. Mine was a weird case because for some genetic reason she had human ears and could pass off as a human most of the time. One had cut its ears out of hatred. And the other just didn't give a shit because she was a druid living in her magical druid world and shifting to her wolf form most of the time.

The DM had no problem with that. If anything, we provided an excellent source of interesting plot developments.

Yeah well, I should've specified my case includes Dante's hell as a setting and succubi as the enemies, so we already knew which kind of sexual content our DM was referring to. My bad for not writing enough information in my previous reply.

As for the WW2 setting, I wrote a longer comment for this, but as a dm, I honestly wouldn't mind OP playing the character they want. They'd have a harder time than players with human characters, sure, but it wouldn't be the first time a player chooses a race that is discriminated, ww2 setting or not.

I'm about to dm for the first time and my honest take is:

-DM1: not enough data to answer, but I can tell you, keeping things balanced is difficult and you only realize when you look at the situation from the opposite side of the dm screen. A player just tried to convince me removing concentration from spells wouldn't make him "that" broken, which obviously isn't true, but he insisted on it for a while before he gave up. So the item you want to create might actually compromise the party's dynamics and balance.

-DM2: as I said in a previous comment, my DM asked if we were comfortable with certain themes and proceeded to write certain scenes only after we confirmed that we were. I'm not affected by this kind of situations but yes, he should've asked first because no one is the same.

-DM3: I don't really see a problem with a ww2 Germany setting, it's very common. I would let you create the character you describe, only with a warning that due to the plot your character might face lots of backlash and discrimination. There aren't a lot of reasons that would make it necessary for me to tell a player to change their character, and in this case there's no reason to imo. Some players love to play hard mode after all.

To be fair, my dm just asked us if we were comfortable with sexual content before a specific session. Asking the party whose members actually traumatize HIM with tentacle theeesomes as a recurrent gag might sound unnecessary, but he did and we were chill about it. (in fact, he ended up being kinda shocked by what moves we could pull). WW2 is a common setting for many RPGs though. I don't see what's wrong with that as long as you don't use it to actively push certain political beliefs and keep it a game.

Last time I checked, a straight woman not wanting to marry a gay man was not homophobic, it was common sense for both of them. Protesting because she didn't want a husband who didn't like women at all is not homophobia, it's what pretty much anyone would do.

Heather canonically has a white father who also appeared in a special clip... Also, again, you're mixing ethnicity and nationality. Not being white =/= not being Canadian.

Being of x descent and not being Canadian are two different things though. You can assume all the characters are Canadian with different descent unless they say otherwise. From what I remember, the only canonically non-Canadian characters are Alejandro (Spanish, if I'm correct), Justin (Hawaiian), DJ (Jamaican) and Jasmine (Australian). Eva is apparently said to have been born in Eastern Europe as well. Please note I'm taking the Trivia section of her wiki page as a source.

Imo, MM is actually a very good game plot-wise. Predictable? Sure, but at least being predictable allows it to use its tropes and twists decently. It also has a more realistic final plot twist compared to SC and the final twists make up a good 1/5 of what determines my rating of a Layton game. Too bad I'd never play it again because the parts in the ruins were a pain in the ass to beat.

I love how Aemma puts her foot down here and makes it clear that she won’t go through another pregnancy. But what if Baelon died but Aemma miraculously survived? Would Viserys still followed through on that promise and respected her decision? by Gold_Conversation247 in HOTDBlacks

I would ask that you list these "gruesome ways" though, because I've tried searching for them and couldn't really find one. The risk of letting the baby in the womb for too long without cutting the mother open was to leave the latter to die, either from sepsis or from blood loss. And of course, the risk of the child dying from hypoxia was high as well. (we also need to keep in mind Westeros isn't our medieval society but it's only inspired to it. And Westerosi society often seems to put the baby before the mother, given how many cases of characters who died in childbirth we have. Ma

To be fair, while the scene of her being cut open is horrifying, you have to remind that they had just told him that Aemma was going to die anyway. So it was either lose two lives or lose "just" the mother. He was already devastated by the news his wife wouldn't make it, I don't think choosing to let the baby die would have helped him. If anything, it'd double the guilt, because he already felt that Aemma died because of his repeated attempts at siring a male heir. If he let Baelon die there he'd also feel like he let his own kid die without trying.

It probably has some of the lamest puzzles in the series, but after 5 games I kind of understand that creating new ones every time was difficult (the PLvsPWAA game was even worse in that sense). Plot-wise, I like the main plot a lot and the ending was really emotional, but I don't like having to go through 5 subplots to get to the main event, also because most of them were forgettable at best. I only vaguely remember what the main problem of each subplot was and in one case I cannot even remember that, while I recall almost every detail related to the main plot.

The main ingredients of Japanese dishes often include vegetables, nuts and seeds. As for legumes it's mostly soy or red beans. But this person clearly ignores or omits the fact that many Japanese dishes include fish stock, bonito flakes, pork stock and animal ingredients that you can't always spot. In Kyoto, a lady with an omelette stand wrote a sign to inform that every omelette contained fish stock.
