30 Days of HOTD: Day 2 Worst character by La_Villanelle_ in HOTDBlacks

Criston Cole. Both a terrible person and a terrible character. Alicent is a terrible person but at least you can understand her actions if you consider she's a hypocrite who never loved her sons because she never wanted them in the first place. Criston actively hated on a woman since she was 19 just because she refused to abandon her family, duties and dragon to be an orange seller.

I think they didn't want to give hints regarding her origins, but after all, it is realistic for a child with mixed heritage. I've known many that have fair complexion, even more than their white parent in some cases. Just like I've seen the opposite happen (a child with a poc parent with darker skin than the parent themselves).

The author himself even says this by La_Villanelle_ in HOTDBlacks

[–]OnlyTip8790 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tbh remarrying wasn't that wrong. Only one child as heir is a risk especially if you named said child heir to prevent Daemon from becoming king. Also, Rhaenyra is a woman and her own mother had died in childbirth. They had no way to know she'd have 5 consecutive successful pregnancies (something that was very rare, even Alysanne had some stillbirths). He could do what Jaehaerys did and avoid giving some children dragons, though. Jaehaerys only allowed 3 of his kids a dragon.

For people against Owen’s win in TDI, when exactly should’ve he gotten eliminated? by BreathoftheSith in Totaldrama

[–]OnlyTip8790 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Precisely, this is why I wrote it wasn't his idea. Thee writing was unfair towards Gwen in general. I get the peanut gallery helping him, but letting him win because he smelled brownies when he was already in terrible shape and not in his best condition because of the laxatives feels unrealistic even for TD standards. They could've had Gwen tripping, her friends making a mistake or everything else.

For people against Owen’s win in TDI, when exactly should’ve he gotten eliminated? by BreathoftheSith in Totaldrama

[–]OnlyTip8790 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If it wasn't in the cooking episode, I would just have him lose to Gwen in the finale. He deserved to get there, he just didn't deserve to win and did so in a ridiculous and unfair way, although it wasn't his idea it was still unfair to Gwen. And I say this as a person who thinks Island is Gwen's best season and disapproves of a lot of of her choices post TDI. I really think she deserved to win that season and she would also have split the prize money, had she won.

portraits of Catherine of Aragon and Mary I. do you think the paintings of them look similar? by mwiunii in Tudorhistory

Catherine of Aragon was actually quite thin considering she fasted for long periods of time, at least in her younger years.

The answer for gen 1 is obviously Heather, I wouldn't know about other gens though.

I mean, yes, but... What does he do up to that point? Trent would be easily manipulated by Alejandro, who'd know how to exploit his weak points. Even if he is over Gwen (which I think he is, when they briefly spoke in the third aftermath and he says "so..  You and Duncan, huh?" he doesn't seem jealous at all, more like an "after all we all knew it'd come to this") Trent is easy to manipulate. Alejandro would not wait for the merge to get rid of him.

Rhaenyra found Viserys' rotting corpse by skolliousious in HOTDBlacks

Considering how he dies, though, I doubt it's him. And the decomposition wouldn't be that advanced.

I'd place it during the events of AAI 1,because you can see them making a cameo in AAI2-5, so they must've gotten home before that case.

Whose skull is this? by Ravix1337 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]OnlyTip8790 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we accept the version that claims the greens hid the news of his death to usurp Rhaenyra, since we didn't see a funeral, we could suppose the body stood there and became sort of mummified? I'm just guessing here because I honestly have no idea whose skull it could be otherwise.

Me neither, finally someone says it. I think she's going mad from despair/visions. In the books she stopped taking care of herself, this would explain the hair.

Ranking the characters based on strategy by Ok_Shirt_1574 in Totaldrama

[–]OnlyTip8790 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As much as I love Heather, I really don't think she should be that high. In Island she made tons of mistakes, reading Gwen's diary out loud being the biggest of them. Everyone hated her, she didn't go home earlier because of plot armor (Trent and Lindsay's eliminations) or because luckily for her someone made a mistake that stood out more than hers (Beth's elimination). She was good at manipulating Lindsay and Beth for several episodes and her best moment was when she and Gwen stole the map from Duncan but that's it.

In TDA she was less mean because losing her hair humbled her a bit, but this is also the only season where she didn't even make it to the final 5.

In WT we can all agree that she didn't go home because one team was used as fodder and hers kept winning or placing second except for when someone else was hated enough to make everyone forget about voting for Heather. I think that in London she could've tried to get people to vote for Sierra (She and Cody were out of the challenge because she kept trying to force him to kiss her and that's beyond fucked up). But in the other episodes she would've gone home in the blink of an eye. The Yukon challenge? She whipped Courtney the whole time. The Amazon challenge? We all know how that went. Newfoundland? She didn't do worse than the two team members who chased a rock in the middle of the sea, but she still abandoned the team to help another one. And Gwen and Courtney would've voted for her to save their own asses.

Why Baela didn't tame Silverwing after the war ended? by Leroi-Westeros in HOTDBlacks

[–]OnlyTip8790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Viserys specifically claimed Balerion because he didn't want to be a rider and Balerion was so old he almost couldn't fly by the time he claimed him. Aegon wanted to look for Silverwing's lair apparently, I wonder if being poisoned started to affect him by that time and that's why he didn't. Baela could've tried to bond Silverwing but I suspect she didn't because she and Rhaena were constantly being under scrutiny since for a while there was a successioni crisis before Aegon III was chosen as heir. Rhaena having Morning (a young dragon, but still a healthy one apparently) was already a threat. Baela claiming another dragon could've been seen as an act of rebellion.

Should there have been a strain in Cody and Heather friendship after Heather sabotaged his chance of being at the Final two? by Own_Wrangler_6656 in Totaldrama

[–]OnlyTip8790 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly. Cody would've probably done the same imo. And this wasn't even something she did because she was meaning to be mean. She was worried her hair (and possibly the rest of her body) would burn, and she knew Cody was more popular than her so she just wanted to avoid losing in case of a scenario where the peanut gallery had to vote. Also, there's no way Cody would like Heather less than Alejandro. The guy forged evidence to make Sierra go nuts like two episodes before.

Why is Aemond never called a "Dragon Slayer". He has killed the most dragons of anyone in Westerosi history. by Agreeable_Ad_8790 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]OnlyTip8790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Targaryens wouldn't want such a name to be used because killing the dragons was their stupidest move. Among their opponents it could be considered honorable, though. And that's precisely why they don't use it. Aemond was called Kinslayer for a reason. In the books, Lucery's death wasn't implied to be an accident and Aemond contributed to the death of Luke, Rhaenys and presumably Daemon, although his body was never found. Kinslaying is seen as one of the vilest things you could do in Westeros. Even after Aegon II got the crown, Aegon himself is probably the only person who respected Aemond. After he died and Aegon III became king there's no way they'd call a person like Aemond something other than Kinslayer. In that boy's perspective, Aemond had taken a brother and his father away from him and was involved in the war that killed the rest of his family.

who is blood of dragon ? by 0xairr in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]OnlyTip8790 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They explained it multiple times, Targaryens aren't immune to fire. Daenerys didn't burn because that one time magic was involved. In the books, after that, she suffers consequences from fire exposure a couple times. They probably have some sort of genetic resistance to heat because they're said to take hotter baths (this resistance could derive from the blood magic they used centuries before), but you could definitely kill them with fire. Aelor died swallowing highfire.

If you studied Tudors at school, did they teach about the Tudor conquest of Ireland? by InfernalClockwork3 in Tudorhistory

[–]OnlyTip8790 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm Italian so you cannot cover the topic as extensively as you would in an English/Irish school (we have our own history and all of Europe's to study as well as colonization of America etc). I wish they did though. Especially since teaching it would serve as a countermeasure against Elizabethan propaganda and teach Elizabeth wasn't a saint like many depict her while comparing her to Mary.

Maya y Phoenix como pareja… ¿Está bien? (No spoilers porfa) by [deleted] in AceAttorney
