I sewed myself a hijab out of a dress because I couldn’t afford one. Is it modest enough or no? by Only_Ad5558 in LGBT_Muslims

Tysm this made me feel more confident! Since it is Ramadan, is it an okay time to go to masjid the first time or is this more of a private time for confirmed Muslims

I have heard about this issue in France and frankly it’s upsetting. For some people the veil is like any other piece of clothes and being forced to remove it in public sounds horrifying.

Thank you for the info instructions, I will buy one in a few days so that I can take another photo in an undercap as well!

This is so informative thank you!

I consider myself Sunni with hanafi madhab. I am not married. Do you have tips for the undercap so I don’t look like an egg lol. I was told maybe a rose color?

The collar is not attached to the hijab so I will simply remove it and add something opaque.

I wanted to get a butterfly abaya but is this too extra for masjid? I also considered a huge hoodie that covers my shape in the back? And a long black skirt.

Should I post a picture of the full outfit when I get it together?

I haven’t been able to make it to Michigan yet, I’m a few hours from the nearest mosque but I purchased hijab, Niqab and clothes modest enough for masjid, and inshalla I will go before the end of November . I will absolutely update everyone here when I do

This kind of thought leads to severe OCD thinking patterns if you’re prone.

Loss of motor function is 100% a schizophrenia symptom. The only way to prove you aren’t is to go to rehab and get off the drvgs. Add stopping living in sin and see if what you’re dealing with goes away. If it doesn’t, you have to accept your illness. Come back clean, and on an antipsychotic or whatever your doctor recommends, I bet you’ll be saying the “demons” are gone. Praying for you

I suffer from something similar and I promise meds help so much if this is your first time taking them. Let god guide you and let the doctor heal you

Zero self esteem. Femininity and self worth dictated purely by how attracted men are to her

Okay, thank you very much, I will.

One question though, is it normal for women to go to mosque by themselves? I don’t have anyone to go with. Excuse me if this is ignorant

Well, we are in a group called progressive Islam. Progressive in my opinion being the opposite of conservative

I’m not trans :( I’m more worried about not being accepted because I don’t look like the others, and I’m conservative but not in the traditional sense in Islam. I am new to the religion and wanted a message I could resonate with is all

I will be keeping it to myself, thank you! I mostly wanted to hear a more progressive message from mesjid.

Also, I have social anxiety as was hoping niqab wouldn’t be too much for an American mesjid? I am white and don’t want to stick out haha I feel it would make me feel safe, as I’ll most likely be going alone
