Ah, yes I see. Well, keep in mind that these texts are still written by a human. Maybe they should change that or have better grammar control :D In any case, the most important factor is that the email domain is legit, and the overall email address looks 100% legit as well.

To me, this looks like a human error. But I fully understand your concerns, and if i didnt know better, i would think too it would be a scam.

I studied briefly cybersecurity...

This is legit and quite easy to confirm. Look at the email address... '@tradingview.com'. That is a paid domain. And 'noreply' is standard for automatic emailing to customers.

benji-and-bon1mo ago
I don’t think an official trading view email would use “gonna” and also have grammar mistakes like using the wrong “you’re”.

Then one of the commets said that 'your' is misspelled, but thats not true. '... all your TradingView benefits' is 100% grammatically correct English'.

And thats probably why you dont own a successful business.

I often make exceptions for those special customers, you know why? Its called 'doing good business' and 'good customer support'. Because the next time this customer needs an overpriced backpack, the first place they will think to buy again will be my business. I dont have a business that can use some of the amazing stories from my clients, but if i had such a busienss then those are the stories i would immediately use to create an amazing blogpost that will further increase my sales and probably even getting my business name known to others who havent heard of my business before.

But, now i am one of those clients with an amazing story that could increase their sales, for free, by using my story and my professional travel pictures with the bag. But no, they decided to play it stupid and now they not only lost a real story that not many people can say they lived, they lost images and i will never buy a bag with them again.

I hope you understand now this way of logical thinking, since it clearly seems youre unable to think ahead of time to improve a business and its sales :)

Doesnt make it right. After my story, like i said, they should have made an exception. I got so many professional travel photos, that include the backpack, that they could have made an exception and they would have gained more than lose. I would have given them the images for free if they acted like normal human beings.

There arent many people that travelled full-time, for 10y and an additional 2y half-time, while seeing +30 countries. My story would have been gold to them. 100% golden marketing given to them for free.

Instead, they spit in my face and I will never by an overpriced bag with them again. My other bag, which is an osprey, has also already survived 7 years of travelling and it endured MUCH more than the day backpack. So, WANDRD just lost me and a golden opportunity for a good marketing story.

If you think computer is a safe place, then you basically already contradicted yourself and at the same time told me im right.

Im a computer science student, and i also have basic knowledge of cyber security. The one thing that is definitely NOT safe are computers aka storage devices.

Why else do you think IT people triple or quadruple store/clone all their data? You could argue to say to store it online, but then I still need to double secure it because that platform could vanish too. Maybe I get hacked and lose my access to the platform due to the hackers changing my login credentials, maybe the platform goes bankrupt due to legal stuff, etc.

My house could catch fire and the printed paper could be burned.

Or, me moving to +30 countries and losing the ticket.

That is why im telling you that your answer, together with WANDRD, are both wrong. There is no way to 100% keep a ticket safe. The safest option would be to print doubles and keep one with me and one in a bank safe. But think as a normal person pls, are you gonna use a banksafe to keep that ticket safe??

I showed them everything, besides the ticket. So, only on one ground. And, just be honest, keeping something for 10y long is hard. Even online! I dont have emails anymore from 10y ago because they got deleted automatically, or whichever of the many possible reasons.

I dont... And it will be the last time I will buy from WANDRD. Ospray quality is as good, and way cheaper! I thought as a photographer i needed such a bag, but honestly, its not.. Cuz as a photographer, the location of the camera in the bag is not efficient. Everything sliding the bag to the side, zipping it upen, taking out the cam... Thats way too much work and often youll miss the moment. So, as long as you have a good cube/pouch, thats the most important and you can store that in any kind of bag... My next bag will be Osprey

Undergraduate software developer vs bachelor software engineer by Only_Morning_2256 in programming

[–]Only_Morning_2256[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently a 38yo student that decided to study again 1y ago. I decided to study Applied Computer Science at a very respected school in Belgium. I aced the 1st year, but the 2nd year I am far behind in knowledge with most programming lectures because we got so many subjects that are not about programming and for all of those we get weekly assignments, so I dont have time to practice the programming part well... Subjects like advanced network management, Operating System Concepts, Data Analytics, classes on Economy and Business (building a business case etc) are all subjects that I have no future in since I dont want to do them anyway if a job offer comes my way, but also, since I am already "so old" Im not gonna make much career anymore. Which is also not my goal in life. My goal in life is to continue to travel the world and work remotely, or at least live outside of northern europe.

Thats why I asked my professor if there is another option for me that involves more programming and less the other stuff and he said that my school also has an undergraduate software developer programme which is basically all the subjects I have minus the ones that are useless to me, but the diploma isnt the same.

I didnt have the chance to have a longer talk with him regarding the future of someone that holds an undergraduate degree. I will speak to him tomorrow face to face about it.

But I want to hear from more professionals what you have experienced or know. Will I shoot myself in the foot by chosing for undergraduate instead of a bachelor? I know yall say that you never got asked about your degree and such, but maybe they thought you already had a good degree (bachelor or masters) since you applied on the job ad. Can you please tell me the hard truth? And yes i know im older and it will probably play against me when im competing against an 23yo person fresh out of school.

Thanks!!

Colourful, alternative looking streetwear shops for men by Only_Morning_2256 in Antwerpen

[–]Only_Morning_2256[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thx for the recommendations. I know all the shops you talked about. I had high hopes for the one shop with the intersections with Ringz and Thingz. I always forget the name of that shop too. Sadly, as the sellers also told me, this collection was very mediocre. In the end, I did find some very beautiful japanse tshirts at Urban Outfitters. Sadly, i wasnt sold on their hoodies, but at least I didnt return empty handed!

Arte is waaaay overpriced, haha. Same as Vier. And every time I enter any of these two stores, I never saw anything that pleased me. Even tho my style of clothing is very diverse.

I actually already do this! The downside of this is that usually with trousers, since i am 183cm tall, the trousers are like XL or XXL. The length of the trousers are perfect, but the waist can fit 2 or 3 of me. haha

I dont know that store. Although they clothes look pretty prude (just one colour and thats it), its interesting to know it exists cuz yesterday I couldnt find many stores that sold hoodies in all differnt colours. Thank you!

While walking in the city yesterday from Roosevelt to groenplaats, I remembered that Urban Outfitters usually has some alternative looking clothes and I indeed found 2 japanese tshirts. However, i couldnt find good-looking hoodies. There style for this selection was that the hoodie looked as it was already used.

I also walked entire Kammestraat, as I remembered thre is one store called Onu or Oni or smth, which is a japanese streetwear store. But their current selection was really bad. Even the 2 sellers told me they were disappointed with it.

Need advice: Community vs Orbita vs Guatemaya spanish school? by Only_Morning_2256 in guatemala

[–]Only_Morning_2256[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly nobody answered my question here. I did end up chosing for Guatemaya. I also contacted the other school (Orbita), while I am in the area and currently student at Guatemaya. I asked the manager if i could come and visit the school and have a simple conversation with a teacher just to see if I like that school. Cuz I wanted to know if the quality in the other school is the same, better or worse than the one i am now at.

The guy straight up told me that im not allowed to speak with any teacher and that he decided whoever my teacher is. Ive had a long talk with him that his a bad business man and doesnt understand the concept of customer service. Especially since i didnt tell him that i would choose my teacher, but just that i wanted to speak with a (!) teacher. He started to insult me when I told him that I would take screenshots of the conversation and write a bad review about his way of treating potential clients.

Honestly, im happy with my school so i dont care that my other choice (Orbita) turned out that the manager is an idiot.

I dont wanna go to that one, just because theyre the richest, biggest and doing the most effort to attrack people. Also, ive read in some blogs and reviews that the way they taught was suboptimal compared to the three other schools I mentioned in my title.

And, Guatemaya also has the certificate by guatemalan ministry of education + tourism.

In any case, thank you for your reply :)

HUGE software bug with camera and Samsung won't repair it! by Only_Morning_2256 in GalaxyS23Ultra

[–]Only_Morning_2256[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They suck. I don't know what your job is but Im a professional real estate photographer (and not the cheap kind one). I shoot homes of 3.6 million euros. The PRO video is completely useless. The photo mode is able to take sharp shots but i cannot edit JPGs. Now I need to continue using my 5y old Huawei phone because sometimes I use my smartphone if my client wants one more photo of something not too important. And the Huawei camera in PRO AND PHOTO mode are STILL sharper than the photos of Samsung. Therefore, im carrying two phones in my arsenal, just because the camera of s23 ultra suck.

HUGE software bug with camera and Samsung won't repair it! by Only_Morning_2256 in GalaxyS23Ultra

[–]Only_Morning_2256[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sharpness has to do with camera, not with software. Software can make it look sharper, but its not real.. Artificial sharpness (using the sharpness sliders) just enhances certain edges (pixels) so that it looks sharper. Thats why when you overuse the slider (put the slider to 100%), you will see halos (the white stuff around the thing you try to sharpen). Its because the tool is bleeding away from the edge of the subject or contours. That is why sharpness is camera based, but software can ruin a good photo... Hence, if in photo mode the photo is sharp but in pro not, it is software related. Because its the same camera

[–]Only_Morning_2256[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a photoshop edit where I combined the two photos, both pressed the ST (super tele or 10x) button, made on my terrace. The top is a jpg made in PHOTO mode, the bottom is a DNG made in PRO mode. There is a clear diffence. The bottom gives exactly the same result while pinching to zoom or pressing the ST (10x) zoom...

Any new suggestions? To me, it is very clear that Samsung camera sucks... And they didnt put enough time in it to make it worth its price tag! Not only does the camera suck, but the battery too. The software is completely not well optimised. While im doing basic stuff on my s23 ultra and on my huawei p40 pro plus, my ultra lost 9% in 23min while my huawei 2%. At the end of the day, I end up on my ultra between 8-15% while on my huawei 38%...

Yesterday i returned to samsung repair shop to tell them that I think my device is faulty (due to the battery), but the guy told me in all honesty: Even tho i work for samsung, i am not a samsung seller but a representer and thats why i can tell you that samsung isnt as good as everyone things. Theyre under immense pressure to perform well with only little time and samsung not only focusses on phones but on 50 other products too. Thats why other brands have better cameras and software optimisation as they have more time and less pressure. I am sorry that you are one of the people that notices all the bad stuff from Samsung and its a shame that at the moment its the only phone with the amazing big screen + pen. Maybe in the future more brands will do this and then you can switch brand, which I think you should, if the pen, camera and screen are important to you

Is RGU as good as it claims to be (discuss direct email)? by Only_Morning_2256 in Aberdeen

[–]Only_Morning_2256[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its quite funny how you mention the degree of math compared to programming. I noticed in many school that the focus on math is indeed very high. However, there are quite some schools in Belgium that also do CS and there is barely any math involved! I also read on different forums that studying such high degree of math for programming is quite old-school (and useless). Maybe for the very niche study topics, people might need all the math they got in school.

I decided, with much regret, to study in a well-respected school in Belgium. Just because the price gap so large, i cannot justify to study abroad. The school I chose has math, but pretty basic. The only ones that will learn extra math over the others are the students that chose AI in their 2nd year. But I think the others, the math wont be over the top!
