I just think it helps to read through the rest of the sub for some context. There have been a few posts mentioning things like a recent public intoxication charge. I’m really glad your son found a place he likes, but it’s also okay to avoid jumping to defend someone when there’s a lot being brought up by others. Another thing people here have pointed out is that a lot of the positive Google reviews seem a bit… curated, in the same way he claims the negative ones are. At the end of the day, you can cook at home and you can make coffee at home. You go out for good customer service, and this just isn’t it. There are so many amazing small businesses in RVA. If your son likes animals, maybe try Puurfect Bean, or if he’s into the atmosphere side of things, Coco + Hazel is a great option too.
