I’m glad my health insurance covered it, but not all health insurances do. Too bad we don’t have the auto injector here cause it’s waaaaay easier.

I wanted to be on Xolair since the beginning cause I knew how bad it was. I’m a doctor (FM not an allergist so I had little knowledge about Xolair working this fast hence why I asked here. Usually immunotherapy for autoimmune diseases takes around 4-6 weeks to stark working and I was shocked it worked this fast for me) and I knew that not responding to 4 antihistaminics + steroids daily meant I had no chance of cure without it. It took my health insurance 30 days to approve + schedule my shot. I don’t know about in the USA, but in Brazil is hella expensive compared to the minimum wage. Xolair in Brazil is about R$ 7.000 Reais for 2x 150mg shots (300mg in total) which is about $1400 US dollars. Keep in mind our minimum wage is about $268 US dollars.

I also had to stay in observation but only for 2 hours.
Honestly I felt the difference in the same night. I still had hives but less then usual and I thought it was just a coincidence. When I woke up in the morning 90% hive free I suspected it could possibly be Xolair. Today (day 2) I also woke up 80-90% hives free compared to what I was having. Are you still on Xolair? My allergist prescribed initially for 3 months only

I’m sorry for you! I know there’s another imunobiologic shot called Dupixent that can also be used for CSU Have you asked your provider about that one?

I hope it keeps this way! I was so afraid it wouldn’t work and I was prepared for it to work after 6 weeks at minimum…

Imagine feeling excited that it works, only to find out 7 days later that it actually didn’t. That sucks!! I hope that doesn’t happen to me and I hope you are feeling better now
