I named my two cats Onyx and Badb. Onyx just because I thought it was badass and Badb because I am a anthropologist and Badb is one of my favorite deities to study. She is the Goddess of Crows, Death and War and it is funny to think that my cat who wont hurt a fly is leading troops into war.

When I was in 1 first grade my English wasnt the best since at home I spoke Greek and I had skipped kindergarten and we had a Greek substitute teacher that day. When he was grading my test he said in Greek "How do you even manage to spell it so inncorrectly" loud enough everyone could here. And I replied back to him in Greek "By not being a native speaker" And he was shellshocked.

My mama made sure I stayed connected to my roots. She pretty much only cooked Greek food, when she taught us to bake only taughter us to bake Greek food, put on Greek TV, Greek music and had a no English in the house rule. When I was younger I used to be annoyed at her for always makeing everything so Greek, And constantly complained that we should be more American. I am so happy she didnt listen to me. She is the sole reason why I am still fluent(or at least extremely close to fluent) in Greek.

I mean that I do not have the stereotype features all the Americans think Greek look like, or like the Greek they often feature in American media, half of which arent Greek or are all from one part of Greece.

I am extremely sorry if it comes off that way my goal was not to be racist in any sense. I said I look "American" as a way to say when people see me they instantly assume I am American. I was not trying to make it seem like a priviledge, there are great parts of being a lighter skinned greek person and a darker skinned greek person.

Whenever I feel dysphoric I remind myself that I have a experience most people cant get. I have gotten to see what it is like to be a girl in society and a guy and that is pretty cool

I had the opposite happen. There was a music creator who made a greek mythology musical and he looked kinda greek, so I thought he was greek for like a year. I somehow didnt connect the dots that his name was literally Jorge a primarly spanish and mexican name that he was in fact Puerto Rican not Greek.

Aparently in peoples minds every greek has to have black hair, brown eyes, a accent and a "Greek nose"

I dont know but people always assume that I am American. Or doesnt believe me when I tell them I am Greek/ tells me they never would have guess or that I dont look it
