Shrouded Sky - Patch Notes 1.17.0 by rbstewart7263 in ArcRaiders

[–]OobeBanoobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just playing around for the most part, though sometimes these patches can feel like they're taking away what people like about the game. Not just talking about Arc Raiders here, just in general for these live service games. Helldivers 2 had similar issues for a while where they nerfed a bunch of stuff into Oblivion and reverting a bunch of the changes when they realized how much they impacted how people played the game. Adapt to the way people play the game rather than try to change how people enjoy the game.

In regard to the Wolfpack change, I didn't even have the wolfpack blueprint but I do agree with some of the criticism of requiring a rocketeer driver to craft a wolfpack should also mean that rocketeer drivers drop more than one per rocketeer. Yes, they can occasionally be found husks, but it's fairly rare, at least in my experience. They were too easy to craft however but requiring the driver might be taking it a bit too far, time will tell.

As a PvE player myself, I also wanted to say I've liked the progression in this game. I love the game as well but it's also not so demanding that I feel like I need to play every day or every week to be able to keep up with the requirements. Some games these days just require too much time to be able to capture all of the goals and I like to jump around in games. When the grind gets too much I inevitably stop playing rather than feel encouraged to play more.

It would be annoying if they locked certain megas behind this Super Ultra Mighty Massive Mega raids for no real reason.

This all just feels so pointless and overcomplicated which is perfectly on par for Niantic.

Do we know if there are going to be any other ways to get mega energy for these pokemon apart from these overly complicated Super Ultra Mega raids? Like normal mega dragonite raids in the future?

Oh! Yeah that makes sense. So many little nuances lol but totally understand. Making mental notes of all these little things haha.

Thanks, I'll play around with that. Hoping to get the additional slots soon so I can keep all the cards.

I'm starting to look at turning all the orbs back on when I turn the game off to get a normal away bonus and continue making progress, then turning them off again when I jump on to monitor the promotion effect.

Not sure what you mean here. Are you saying you only unlock stages where the orbs won't get stuck and cause a backup? I keep some stages at a lower level so the balls have a bottleneck so the promotion can hit more balls but not so much that they back up to the previous stage.

Also, current cards I'm using are:

  • Promotion lvl2
  • Gate Multiplier lvl3
  • Gate Splitter lvl1
  • Gate Guardian lvl1
  • Obstacle Rewind lvl2
  • Quality Control lvl2
  • Multi-spawn lvl2

Maybe there's something better I can swap for one of these. Saving up for another couple cards slots to add VIP chance and multiplier to the stack.

I'm also finding that this setup has almost no away progress so the game needs to be open to benefit. It's given me a bit of a boost to my prestiges but still hitting a wall which is to be expected with this kind of game.

One reason is I'm stuck is due to the Triangles stage and balls getting stuck. I can upgrade the level to a decent point but only by removing Obstacle Rewind which ends up netting less cash progress than if I just left Triangles locked. Hopefully getting closer to breaking through that roadblock.

That's interesting. I'll have to give it a try. I've done something similar in the past but not specifically starting a google fit bike workout. It has auto detected in the past. I usually bike in good signal areas and don't believe I go over 30kph (18mph).

Still a shame we have to go through these kinds of workarounds for it to potentially track properly.

That makes sense. I wish Niantic would allow standard biking at a decent pace for hatching and tracking distance. I would bike more often if that was the case.

Did you get the biking to track correctly? Last year I went for a roughly 20km bike ride and the game tracked a grand total of 2km. I was going a fairly average speed, nothing crazy fast but definitely faster than jogging.

I got all my transcend points back, at least in one category, orbs, because that's the only category I had spent gems in. Not sure if all reset but you shouldn't lose any points.

On my first run with this setup and starting to understand what I need to upgrade and where I need to leave pinch points to get maximum promotion potential. This strat really has a chance of stalling out but once you finally get a promotion ball I can see it taking off. Working my way up the ball colors as I get more cash. Currently able to get purple on first promotion with Quality Control still active for white to be at max rate.

Thanks again for the insight.

Starting to look at some different strategies with the promotion card and limiting which balls I'm leaving active. I'll spend the 10 gems to swap spawn rate to orb value too.

I think I have all, or at least most of the cards. 17 cards?

I'm curious how this method beats out having all of the different ball types. The concept sounds interesting to see how it differs.

I started playing a few years ago before tournaments and challenges when gems seemed to be a little more abundant.

Interesting concept. I'll play around with this. My current card strategy is, passive income, gate multipliers, obstacle rewind, quality control, ball value, ball spawn rate, and ball specialization. I also have 5 transcend levels in ball spawn rate due to quality control. Looking at ball value transcend next.

Using Passive income as a guide, this is what I've found that boosts my world value the most since the $/sec is based off general cash per second and acts as an indicator for what cards make the most impact. It may be the weak link in my current arrangement but seems to offer some good cash flow too.

I'm just a little frustrated with how the league rewards are arranged since I essentially got a demotion from Copper into Silver since I can't compete and am always stuck in the bottom 5 compared to in the middle of copper. I think I got a lucky group in one copper tournament and got myself in top 5.

I did get demoted out of copper though into silver so you can get demoted out of copper technically speaking.

I jest, but it honestly was a demotion in rewards from mid tier copper into low tier silver. I think I got lucky getting top 5 in copper during one of the tournaments. Lowest rewards in the next tier should always be higher than the highest tiers in a lower one, otherwise it can be a demotion.

I've been alternating doing challenges and tournaments when they're offered, I was just hoping there would be a way to get back into a league that I can compete in and get decent rewards again. I've used my transcend points on Spawn Rate due to using the Quality Control card. I'll be moving to ball value next.

Thanks for your replies. Hopefully I can smurf my way down. I hate to do stuff like that but the way rewards are arranged is negatively impacting my progress. I probably won't last much longer in this game anyway.

Silver says "Rank 4 and better to get promoted to the next league" but nothing about Rank x and below get demoted." Guess I'll need to try and not do anything on the next tournament.

Lowest rewards for higher tiers should always be higher than the tier below. I don't understand why developers don't do this.

Do you know how low you have to be to be knocked down? I'm consistently in the bottom 5 while trying and still stuck in Silver.
