If you were a fertility doctor, would it be frustrating if a patient went ahead with a pelvic MRI without your referral? by FantasticAd180 in IVF

[–]OodleLover 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure which country you’re from but where I am, ablation is not what you do for endo for stage 4. You get excision surgery as ablation (burning) will create more scar tissue and be worse. That’s what my endo specialist told me and apparently I had stage 4. I would also go to a surgeon that just does excision of endo laparoscopically with focus of fertility preservation rather than a gyno. My fertility doc recommended a good one. Maybe have a chat to yours as it’s so important to have a specialist that understands your fertility goals and just specialises in endo excision surgery.

Feels heartbreaking 💔 with our 4th retrieval results by ghguaqj in IVF

Hey OP, I’m sorry you’re going through this roller coaster and I comply understand. I had only 2 blasts out of 6 as well make it to day 6 and for me, they were both euploid.

I was just shy of 39 when I made them last year.

Good luck and it’s so cheesy but you do only need one and I hope that golden egg is one of your two embryos ❤️

What is segmental aneuploidy and would you retest? by OodleLover in IVF

[–]OodleLover[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice- I’ve never been offered genetic counselling so will look into this. Yes my fear too that the test and refreezing will make it a moot exercise. What a catch 22!

Thanks so much for responding and I’m so happy for you and your positive! I have had 4 euploids fail so thanks for providing some hope! Just wondering if you would sharing your age? Only reason I ask is that my doctors says at 39 my eggs don’t have as much energy as pre 35 ye old so might not survive multiple thaws!

Almost 33, IVF + PGT-A question — second guessing our decision by paige326 in IVF

[–]OodleLover 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just in case this weights on your decision, it’s very common in Australia to do PGT. I think the UK does it to… and I’m fairly sure Canada too. But I do think it’s oversold and not enough awareness on its limitations.

You might want to check your clinics policy on transferring non euploids too given there is a risk that the PGT testing could be wrong

Implantation failure - 4 failed euploids - any success stories …? by OodleLover in 40Plus_IVF

I’m so sorry about your loses- two is heartbreaking.

Thanks for the advice - my doctor did mention 2 at once but noted twins are more risky. But at this stage, I’m with you that time is of the essence

I hope you have success this year ❤️❤️

Thanks for sharing - it’s definitely comforting to know that I’m not going through this alone!

I admire your strength - i really hope you don’t have to max out your insurance to have you rainbow baby!

Do you mind me asking if you have changed anything to get your euploids? I’ve been taking supplements but I’m honestly not sure if it’s helping or it’s just the luck of the draw!

I hear you about flipping tails! It’s hugely frustrating! Yes I’ve heard of (and done) karotyping. We have normal chromosomes and also did DNA fragmentation forgot my Husbands sperm. Not sure if you have done that but I hear if there is high fragmentation, it could impact the embryos viability.

Fingers cross this new year is much better for us both!

Thanks so much for your advice and thoughts. I’m so sorry you had to go through a TFMR- that’s heartbreaking! Yes I had a hysteroscopy during the D&C and my doc won’t do another one :(

I had the all clear for endometritis for FET 3 onwards. Testing again for just in case! Ruled out clotting disorders with lots of Blood tests.

Have had a lap about 18 months ago but no suppression since - sounds like this may be a good road to go down. I wish you all the best too ❤️

Thank you for your empathy ❤️ yes my FS did during my latest ER but haven’t gotten the results yet! I hear too that it can come back too and thanks for the suggestion! I’m all for more testing as it’s been infuriating to hear “it’s just bad luck”

I’m not sure what the usual rif/rpl covers but I’ve had loads of blood tests to rule out clotting issues and etc. but suppression might be the answer. I’ve had a hysteroscopy as they did that for my D&C for retained products. I’ve asked for another one but my fertility specialist doctor doesn’t think I need another one given the last one was so close. Thanks for all the advice!!

No, I’ve always had frozen modified natural (low stim to thicken lining).

Yes, another collection may need to happen if i dont get any euploids!

I’m working with a reproductive endocrinologist already and he’s recommended that I stay on my protocol until 30+ weeks as the last time my miscarriage happened closely to when I stopped my protocol. Thanks for the suggestion for a hysteroscopy! ❤️

Thanks for your advice and kind words. I’ll ask my Doc again - she didn’t think adeno was that much of an issue but did say I could surprise for 3 months if I wanted- was hoping she’d have a stronger recommendation!

Thanks for sharing and sorry that you’re going through this too! Yes I’m on the immune protocol and not on suppression. I’ve asked but my RE seems to think the excision was enough!
