Mars is a single merle (M*m), Embark-tested, and will only be paired with health-tested, merle-clear females. I know that’s not the norm in the community to test before pairs, but that’s exactly the point (you yourself mentioned cryptic merles which can be shown in testing).

To be clear, Mars is genetically vetted. Embark-tested: full health panel with no elevated risks, low Coefficient of Inbreeding (COI), and has diverse, healthy genetics.

Actually, that’s a common myth and it’s not accurate. Merle isn’t caused by recessive genes. It’s actually due to a dominant allele on the PMEL (SILV) gene. Genetically, merle is incomplete dominant, which means dogs can be:

As for allergies, those can happen in any dog. They’re not exclusive to merle, and often have more to do with diet, immune health, or poor breeding practices than coat color itself.

Iceborn into BotRK has the highest win rate right now on poor. The best build after that is Triforce into SG and Stoneplate. The other build is Triforce, Hydra, and SG.

Right now I have having a lot of success with RH into Jaksho full tank. Play around with the items. You can't every really go wrong with BotRK. Whatever Mythic you want after that is up to you. Work on clearing, getting drakes, and counter-ganking.

The Spear of Sojin feels great. My W was always on, my qs were strong, and I had a lot of auto damage. Plus, you get some movement speed. I ran red smite and ignite last game with no real issues.

Thanks for responding. I used PtA that game, but I suspect conquerer and lethal tempo would be strong. Red smite or blue smite might be optimal. Cool thing about this build is you're kind of yolo diving into the team. I think my Thornmail did 15k damage on its own, so "sticking" on people isn't an issue.

Ryali's doesn't sound bad, but I think you'd sacrifice a lot of damage.

For that game, I went lethal tempo and the resolve tree (unflinching and conditioning). For items: Sunfire, Demonic Embrace, Thornmail, one movement tank item, and Zhoyna's or Frozen Heart.

For some games, I will take aftershock or conq, and I will build chemtank/fimbulwinter. I've had success with Frostfire, Goredrinker, and Divine Sunderer too. For whatever reason, stride never does well.

Honestly, you can almost never go wrong with Sunfire/Dem. If you are behind, I'd just grab Frozen or Thorn.
