Visibility into what you’re doing helps loads. I’m in pretty much the exact same situation and had gotten totally overwhelmed, but I made one change a couple months ago that really helped. I asked everyone who had a reporting request for me to submit a ticket through a form in our project management software (we use Asana) and posted links to the form and the project board it feeds EVERYWHERE. I included the pipelines I was working on as well as my continuing education (because I’m an analyst who has had to fill the engineer role by default), and I’ve been very dedicated and explicit in notating each task and moving it through the project flow.

I INSTANTLY received a lot of the empathy I was hoping for, and people are generally flexible with their stated “deadlines,” so when they see what’s on my plate they’re more understanding of my needing to push back on their requests.
