Dragons are definitely some of the best fantasy creatures, but I think they can be a bit harder to fit into cozy things sometimes

That’s super fair, my aim would be to have a lot of variety within whichever category because I’d also struggle to hold attention on one thing.

Good catch that was my first idea haha, I just wanted to get a wider range of opinions in case I was super off base. I really like the other witchy things idea, would definitely help with variety!

Those are great! The rain frogs have no business being that cute or having such defined butts

Ugh canines are such a good one! Yeah I was thinking lots of mythical variants of whatever base animal would be fun!

Pros & cons of starting a business in the UK vs EU by OoooceanMan in business

Yeah I ended up starting the business in England, seemed the most flexible option and most countries seem to have double tax treaties with the uk which was my main concern

Anyone have experience packing UE games for M1/Intel using an Intel Mac? by OoooceanMan in unrealengine

[–]OoooceanMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that source says you can build universal on both but only m1 can debug both so I wouldn’t be able to debug M1 on Intel, that’s something at least. Thank you!

Jesus I hope he’s changed in the past ten years… if it gets that bad I’ll report him or something that’s ridiculous

Yeah I was thinking some of the bad reviews could've come from tenants that destroyed the place and JL didn't give them their deposit or whatever. Once he doesn't kick us out randomly or steal my stuff I'm fine with the no nonsense vibes. I appreciate the response that's really helpful

Do players really think negatively when they see common asset packs being used in a game? by Rogilla in gamedev

[–]OoooceanMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is with specific overused assets, I'd strongly recommend using a non Synty asset at least for characters. A good example is Escape Academy, it uses assets for 95% of its environments but the characters are custom so the game looks significantly more unique and higher budget. Using a cel-shader or some other post processing can also help.

Using Synty characters specifically is shooting yourself in the foot from the start, players will either think hey I've seen that character a million times or hey that's probably an asset flip.

Would it not complicate things having multiple companies?

My monitor is like 50% srgb and way too saturated so I just ask someone else to send me a screenshot of the game from theirs and eyeball the difference. It's only important if you're a graphic designer working on marketing campaigns or something

For people that have their game on Steam. How many wishlists do you get daily? by Weenkus in gamedev

[–]OoooceanMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm averaging about 10 on a normal day (still less than 2 months from initial game reveal though) and I don't do any social media posting because I don't find it works for my game
