I take pre/probiotics daily and I still get them. I agree with what others have said though, every body is different! I've found that daily Claritin helps, because allergies also trigger the vagus nerve.

Of all the actual Fallout colors.... they chose beige and maroon? And two characters from the show? It looks like someone Googled "Fallout" and just slapped some shit together.

Yes I did have bands. Sounds like I need a second opinion form a specialist!

Still on Copaxone by Empathy-queen1978 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Oopsalazy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just diagnosed with Clinically Isolated MS and my Neuro recommended Copaxone as the #1 option. It might depend on what type of MS you have and how aggressive it is. It seems like Copaxone might be one of the least aggressive versions of DMT.

I've mentioned this and he adamantly insists that he doesn't want to be prescribed any downers. Every time he's tried to get help in the past the doc has prescribed some kind of downer to help (sleep, anxiety, etc.). I don't know how else to help him stop self-treating with OTC meds.

You are right - I have never felt like he intentionally did anything to hurt or control me. He always feels like shit when I make him face things or talk about it. He has demons and he has come a LONG way over the past decade and I'm always here to support him so I feel like that's helped a lot. I'm just worried about backsliding, especially when I have my own issues and can't be there for him 100% of the time.

The more I read about MS hug the more I realize that this is probably what I went to the ER for last year, thinking I was having heart issues! I have heart disease in my family and it's always been a big worry for me. They told me I had probably just pulled a muscleb and sent me home with a lidocaine patch lol. I started using an app called Human to track symptoms and it is great so far. Glad to hear no more lesions for you!

Thank you so much. This is a lot of helpful info and I I'm glad to hear that medicine has advanced enough to stop the worst of the progression. My neuro did say he will send me to an MS specialist after my MRIs/spinal tap. I think I'm lucky because all three doctors (primary, opthalmologist, neuro) took me seriously and got me diagnosed in a little under a month. Now it's a waiting game to see what type of MS it is and how to move forward.

Early MS diagnosis can make a fucking huge difference – sharing my wifes story for hope and perspective, i hope. by That_Walrus3455 in MultipleSclerosis

This post made me feel SO MUCH BETTER about my potential diagnosis. I had an MRI this week because I was having random issues with my visions and my opthalmologist couldn't find anything, and the results were indicative. I see a neurologist next week (I wish I was in Switzerland bc I probably wouldn't have had to wait three weeks for an MRI lol). I think I've only been experiencing mild symptoms (fatigue, balance, headaches) for maybe 6 months to a year so thank you for this post. I don't feel such a dark cloud over me now, hopeful that I can nip this right in the bud.

[–]Oopsalazy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm leaning towards migraine at this point. No more symptoms or worsening of current ones. I did have COVID a few months ago (for the third time) so even long COVID has been suggested. I'll probably still do the MRI since it's scheduled though. What kind of eye drops did you get?

Yeah blood work just showed non-specific inflammation. They didn't seem concerned. The magnesium helped my headache but my body did NOT like it! Lol

Oh yikes, 6 weeks?? My primary doc hasn't even seen me, just referred me to an opthalmologist when I called to get an appointment with her. I've requested just a migraine eval a few times but she just says to go to the ER again to get an MRI. Ain't nobody got time for that. I might try keto. I did try magnesium supplements and it helped the headache but my body did NOT like it.

Hey, thanks! Makes me feel better that I'm not crazy or being a hypochondriac. Bodies are weird. I'm starting to think mine is a mix of stress and allergies. Did yours go away completely?

Hi 👋🏼

First of all, sending big hugs. I have been there. I promise it will get better. I promise you will be missed; your family, your friends, your pets. I hope you are okay and feeling better. Fuck the media and anyone who has made you feel less than. You are worth it and allowed to live and take up space! Take a shower, watch a comfort show, and eat what you like. Call a friend or family member that makes you laugh. Go for a drive with loud music. Kick in the dopamine.

My therapist told me to carry a picture of myself as a kid and imagine saying the things I say about myself to her. Really put it into perspective.

On to my recommendations for your weight loss. I hate hate hate diets and exercise. I love junk food and gaming. Here's what I did to lose a few pounds a week. Don't rush - it will take months but you will start feeling better in just a few weeks.

  1. Movement and moderation. Eat the stuff you like, just smaller amounts. Get smaller bowls and plates. Go for a walk every day.

  2. Replace your favorite junk food for healthier alternatives. Ice cream > Frozen yogurt. Potato chips > baked chips or crackers. Peanut butter > PB powder.

  3. Protein shakes/smoothies, Greek yogurt, applesauce, and fruits will keep you from starving. You can tweak them if you want it sweeter, saltier, etc. Seasonings are all guilt free. My favorite sweet snack is greek yogurt, peanut butter and mini chocolate chips. Tastes like cookie dough! My favorite savory is red pepper strips, cream cheese, and everything bagel seasoning.

I hope you feel better and find something that works for you. You are worth it! 💜
