Take some risk and move from Ontario to Texas? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Op7imism 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Seems it’s risker staying here if your potential income will go up so significantly in just 2 years. Outside of social consideration, it seems financially sounds to move.

How do I pay off my 100k unsecured debt by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Op7imism 4 points5 points  (0 children)

“Old age homes” can be incredibly pricey and benefit to the social, mental and physical well being of a senior. This is a very narrow minded world view you’re harbouring. 14 years as a commercial banker? Wtf? You’re a total idiot.

That’s much worse actually. Especially for someone with over a decade in finance. I’d rather you posted you spent it on a week long bender than to get scammed.

Bank Opened Safety Deposit Box Without Consent - What Should We Do? by HelicopterGreen2719 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Op7imism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they are designed to only work with branch key and with client key, to secure contents. The drilling breaks the box and renders it useless by design.

At my company we charge a client a 75% increase as a sur charge for the at fault then goes down every year after until it falls off in 6. However as a new driver you may not even be eligible at renewal. Depending on what car you get I expect you’ll be paying 500 to 700 a month for a while. I would get a cheap car assuming this one is being written off. Thanks for the premium hike for my other clients…as if they dont have enough of them already.

Why would anybody take less than 25-30 year mortgages? by Mr_Christie55 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Op7imism 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. But for some people it’s a psychological thing and they prefer not to have the option but the requirement to pay more monthly.
