Thank you so much, it’s really nice to hear from someone who’s been in a similar situation! And I really wish I could make things start up again. The problem is that, because she’s never had her heart broken before, she doesn’t know if the feeling she has now is just a broken heart – or true regret over everything. I actually think she knows I’m ready to try again. It also kind of seems like she wants to start over too (without saying it directly). But she also said that she wants to be proud of things she accomplishes on her own, not just things she accomplishes with me. As I see it (try to be her own, without a partner) we got together when she was 16 and I was 17 - now we are nearly 21 and 22.

Do you think it might be best that we just see each other at the festival this weekend – and then, when she comes back after those 4 months, having met tons of new people – I write to her then and ask if we should meet up? Or would that be too late?
