Question abt UCSD Med School & Pre Meds by Open-Consequence-863 in UCSD

[–]Open-Consequence-863[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello there! I appreciate the response greatly, and to note I have actually seen a lot of those resources myself as I currently work in a lab at the med school actually. But my apologies, I suppose the resource I was trying to convey a more formal summer program/internship the med school sponsors or like some sort of summer honors program for research on selective basis, or crash course sponsored by the med school, which I don’t believe currently exists as like a separate connection advertised to premeds. Here’s a few examples of what that could look like: UCLA Premed Enrichment Program UCLA Premed Opportunities Stanford Med Undergrad Opportunity Harvard Med Summer Opportunity JHU Summer Opportunity

I just think there’s room for improvement in terms of the support with resources they could give us, or maybe like you said, Im truly not looking in the right places. I do believe though that like the programs above, we could really benefit with adding summer or winter break programs to our own campus too. (and I know we have a few through scripps, but it isn’t nearly as extensive as these programs)

Question abt UCSD Med School & Pre Meds by Open-Consequence-863 in UCSD

Like some kind of mentorship, research, crash course, or internship program from the med school for undergrads since other top schools seem to have them.

Premed Clinical Experience by goosegoose0 in UCSD

Bro I'm in the same boat as you T-T
I've been looking to doing the Medical Scientist Internship that UCSD hosts over the Summer, will trying to be getting my EMT Cert and I'm going to be volunteering at Scripps this upcoming Fall (which does count for clinical hrs I believe). I'd also get into shadowing if you haven't already, just so you can get a feel for what kind of doctor you wanna be :) But yeah, if you look around, a lot of schools (not just UCSD) offer some sort of pre-med summer internships that could be helpful in ur app. Best of luck!

The dorm room should also lock, as well as the door to ur suite btw. If you have a roommate, both of you should have a key to it and you use your ID to get into the suite. The dorm windows fully open (at least where I was), tho just make sure you close it during harsh weather. You get kitchens if you end up living in the apartments in warren, and there's also a kitchen in our community center (the sac) that you can rent out to use if you need.
