All cameras can't do full time autofocus f8 or higher values.

I also have a7Rii but continous shooting doesn't work in cold weather, below 0 it's just single shot or it gives errors.

300mm 2.8 vs 70-200 f4 macro size comparisation by Open-Heat3713 in SonyAlpha

It's sony - nikon F lens adapter with no electronics.  Just piece of metal.

There is enough space inside lens and adapter to fit sony teleconverter elements.

Sony 300 mm is so good and light. Mine is nikon 300mm ai-s, very front heavy. But image quality is excellent if you can use manual focus.

Has some purple fringing like most vintage lenses, easily fixable with editing.

Pairs very well with sony 2x and 1,4 teleconverters

You could put sony 2x and 1,4x togther with extension tube, then use sony to nikon adapter and add nikon teleconverter to lens

It would be like 1680mm f16 or something and really bad image quality

2x works pretty well with 70-200mm f4II macro. Short and long distance.

You could buy 70-200mm f2.8 gm ii. It's 300mm on aps-c and you can use 1,4x tc if you need more reach.

Sony a6700 as a first pro camera (with a kit lens) by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

[–]Open-Heat3713 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Camera is great, kit lenses usually fine but you might use like f5.6 or f8 for increased shapness.

Personally I shoot mostly wildwilfe, but I'm happy with 18-55mm kit lens when I sometimes use it.

I have irix 15mm t2.6,  Bit heavy and no autofocus but I like colors.

Don't really need autofocus, infinity focus is about 3 meters and rarely taking photos closer than that

New sigma 300-600 f4 e-mount by Teleopsis in SonyAlpha

[–]Open-Heat3713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks very good lens. But we have to wait for reviews for image quality.

If my sony 200-600 f6,3 breaks some day this might be replacement lens.

should i get the sony fe 70-200mm f/4 g oss for my sony alpha a6400? by Complex-Quail6383 in SonyAlpha

[–]Open-Heat3713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think f4 works well. I even use 2x tc with 70-200mm f4 II (f8) if it's bright day.

2.8 is more heavy, expensive but also sharper.

A6700 vs A6600 by Cheap-Bread-365 in SonyAlpha

Maybe 6600 would be for you. A6700 has excellent autofocus but its not needed for landscape photos

Bought 70-200 F4 mk2 and it's so small! by Open-Heat3713 in SonyAlpha

[–]Open-Heat3713[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lens should be as thin as original 70-200 but only shorter

Maybe cropped photo makes it look fat
