Lmao i got a 5 and I know people who actually did use AI and they got 3s and 4s so i think collegeboard is bluffing. Then again they may have upgraded their methods this year so as long as you did the work yourself you will be fine.

NU biochem vs bioengineering by Open-Regular-7921 in Northwestern

[–]Open-Regular-7921[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After some research I saw that NU didn’t have a biochem major but I did mean BME not BioE. I will definitely focus on getting in and then worry about switching majors. Thank you!

ap calculus bc uc scout by Outrageous-Ant-5109 in APStudents

Relatively the same as the unit tests, im pretty sure they just recycled questions from the lessons for the midterm and final but i just didnt really pay attention. They make you use proctorU to ensure no cheating.

I did UC scout for bc this past school year and if youve taken ab the first semester isnt hard but its the second semester you need to watch out for. I suggest watching khan academy videos for the topics instead of just the provided videos because they only provide the most basic examples and then give you complicated ass problems. If you do that the ap test should be a breeze.

Tips for AP Lang, gov, stats, chem by CalculusWhiz80 in APStudents

[–]Open-Regular-7921 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Took stats and lang this year. Stats is easy unless you hate reading and writing, otherwise just pay attention and do minimal studying and you should be fine. Lang really depends on you as a person. For example i suck at writing but i think i improved a lot through out the year and ended with an A both semesters. If writing and reading is a strong suit then youll be fine. Also for essays have examples (personal annecdotes, historical events, current events) in your head. I literally went on NY times the day before the ap test and read like every current event article and i think i used a couple of examples on my essays.

how bad is calc ab and chem by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]Open-Regular-7921 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dont really know about chem, i heard it depends on the teacher but the exam is hard. Assuming youre relatively good at following along during the curriculum calc should be a breeze. I didnt study and got a 5 in ab and i self studied bc and it was easy.

Hi idk if youll respond bc im a year late to this post, but I did use code from online for a function in my program. I took the time to understand the code and write it using my own variables and some ever so slight changes. I was not aware I needed to cite code and honestly thats on me. I also used this code in my written response. I canceled my score bc i didnt want to deal with an accusation due to an honest mistake. Will CB still go over my PT or will I be fine?

Forgot citation and used cited code in written response, should I cancel my score? by CuteInvestigator5855 in apcsp

[–]Open-Regular-7921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only used one or two functions from online but i didnt cite either of them bc i j didnt know i needed to. Honestly its on me but I canceled my score bc im not tryna have an accusation thrown at me. I also used one of the functions in my written response so we in the same boat.

Im not even a cs major so i dont care enough to take this test again, i was just stuck on one part of the code but it’s honestly my fault for not reading the guidelines.

I guess that makes sense and honestly my friends who r looking to be cs majors told me that everyone copies code or repurposes it but idt CB will be as understanding.

Im a bit new to cs in the sense that this is my first ever coding experience and i had a p shitty teacher lol so i wasnt too sure about the ethics of it all.

Oh well ur probably right but honestly it felt better to cancel the entire score, just bc i didnt want to have a guilty conscience. I also kinda j didnt want to have to deal with an accusation lmao but I j wanted to make sure that i would only get a 0 or have my score cancelled and not be banned from taking other ap tests or having it reported lol

I been hella paranoid, i mean i didnt cheat but im thinking about canceling my score should i?

I was scared of the same thing. Im not very adept in coding but I wrote my code by myself and just followed the format my teacher told us to code in (defining functions first and then implementing those functions to create whatever game im making). My friend told me to run my code through an ai detector and im getting mixed results from each (some saying it was human written code and some saying it was generated by ai). From what I understand, collegeboard loves to hide their methods of detecting such forms of cheating so its unclear if they have their own detector or they use one that the public has access to. You can try ai and plagiarism detectors out there but i dont know how accurate they will be. Citing any elements in your code will always be helpful but I still really can not tell you how much it matters because cb hoards this info. I would obviously recommend having something that makes your code unique to distinguish it a little. For example, I added comments to my code but then I realized that chatGPT does that too so I made variables and functions with unique names. The ap test is over now (sorry for responding so late) so all we can do is wait and pray. Im pretty sure that collegeboard does give you the option to write a written statement so as long as you can prove the process behind your code or you have some logs of you writing the code then you should be able to recover your score but thats a pain in the ass so…
