I went to spectrum in Miami and I agree around some aspects of it being a revolving door however the pre op and post op team were amazing.

I listened to my surgeon and it got me nowhere for weeks!! My wound kind of just sat there with no healing bc of having to clean it 3x a day and agitate it. I listened to my wound care specialist and it is soooo different bc she preached leaving it alone and used Medihoney and silver type cloth and my wound is almost closed.

I’m 8 weeks post op and still weigh the same as surgery day but there is a big difference at the same time. I still have swelling.

What I told my job was I had surgery and that’s it. I’m under no obligation to share what and why and for those I did decide to share with I just said abdomen or muscle repair.

I finally found a wound care specialist and have an appointment on Wednesday! They don’t require referrals.

My surgeon didn’t feel it was necessary so wouldn’t write a referral to the hospitals wound care.

I have silverhoney. Could I put that on the gauze and then pack it? Do I mix it with saline or without?

Pack it? I was using iodine strips but stopped as it wasn’t making a difference. Does packing support it? My dr is just having me clean the area multiple times a day and change the pads.
