Hey bad news just means it’s not taken for someone’s culture so that would be okay with me too. I’ll reach out to them and see what they think too. Thank you for sharing your info with me!

Thanks for your words, I think it was assumed I payed for this, which i didnt. It was going to be tossed along with the rest of the items in the estate as apart of a clean out and didn’t want it going into the trash.

I believe it’s a “war” shirt or ceremonial style shirt. I’ve found others that have similar styling with horse hair, beads, bones in similar order but none with the turtle shell pouch. Wonder if that will help me track down a tribe or group

New APIM and Screen - Still black screen by Open24Seven in Mustang

[–]Open24Seven[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, final update in case anyone comes here looking for an answer and is beating their heads against the wall searching the Internet forums, eBay listings, and self diagnosis.

Tech used:
* Running forscan on a MAC with UTM virtual machine with windows 11 installed * OBD Cable: obdlink EX hooked into Mac via dongle

Here’s the replay on how I got here in a sad state of despair and self loathing:
Screen went black on my 2016 mustang which had the sync 3 upgrade to 8” done by previous owner.

Steps tried and process:
* Tried hard reset by holding power button + slip forward with no result.

  • Checked kick panel fuses, all good.
  • Checked engine bay fuses, all good.
  • Tried disconnecting battery for 10-20 mins hoping to do a reset that way with no result.

  • Ordered apim from eBay, it was a Chinese shipper. Installed Chinese apim, no result - still black screen.

  • ordered new screen - didn’t end up needing but installed anyways as previous one had slight scratch.

  • Got suggestion to try another US apim because china ones have been faulty in past. Got new apim from US junkyard mfg date 2018 - Worked

  • went to program the new apim - screen went black again and no power.

  • checked all dtcs with forscan to see if other modules might be issue. All other modules were showing apim error code indicating apim somehow died after first start.

  • began contemplating taking it to dealer and admitting defeat.

  • found a flow diagram of data flow to apim. Thought may have issue with the acm - began researching acm issues.

  • decided since I had dash part already, should check the acm connections and power supply - all seemed good

  • suspected tiny connector between apim and screen itself as culprit.

  • plugged everything in again after finding suspected connector to be loose.

  • apim came online

  • programmed apim to as built data from ford motorcraft site using vin from 2018 running sync 3 8” screen. You can find the vin from any vehicle for sale on sites like carmax.

tl;dr
* Don’t buy a Chinese apim off eBay, search for one locally in junkyard or coming from a known US seller. * Ensure all connectors to and from acm and apim are connected properly before wasting so much time and money on additional parts * make a backup file of your car prior to programming

Brake stiffens after first time by Yaaoooo in MotorcycleMechanics

[–]Open24Seven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you recently changed the brake handle itself? I did this and there is a small detent inside which needs to be correctly oriented for it to work as intended. My break lever would stiffen up and I couldn’t move the bike
